Thanks. As I recall, reverse shift was just a matter of undoing the bolt that connects the linkage to the transmission and loosening the two nuts on the linkage for fine adjustment of shifter pedal height.
No idea. It should be pretty straightfoward I would imagine. Lot's of stuff about working on bikes can feel intimidating because of everything that's at stake, but usually I find things are easier than I make them out to be beforehand. But that's how we learn! Don't strip screws and holes, take your time, and take pictures prior. Works for me!
Letting out the clutch lever slowly should get you rolling at around 3-5mph (walking pace) without the need to use any throttle. But considerably faster than that, you might need to adjust the throttle cable or the idle speed. Sounds like before perhaps you had the cable too tight which didn't engage the clutch completely when you released the clutch lever.
Just the video i have needed... My chain snapped and cracked my sprocket cover, ultimately making my clutch lever loose, will i now need a new clutch cable and also i had coolent spraying out the crack. What do i do to insure it is properly cleaned? Hope to get a reply, really am glad u posted that video man, im not an engine wiz, and want to do this right
Do u have to take that vover off to adjust that from the engine or can u just adjust the cable from that cover. Some one adjusted the lever end so much but i want to check that part
Hello I wonder if you replace clutch cable your clutch works easier ? because I have an 2003 gsx-r 600cc and my clutch it.s work harder, and i want to know if i replace the cable I could solve the problem. thank you

Nice vid man! Question i have. 2012 yzf r6 & my clutch lever felt to hard and i was getting hand pain so i started playing with the clutch adjustment knob,,so idk what I did but i tightened it then loosened it,,the tightened it again" lol i have better slack on the lever but now when I pull in the clutch and release it slow the bike moves really fast man is this normal? & i mean it picks up speed fast! I don't even give throttle in traffic anymore thats how fast it is,,some help pls ty.
Hey Buddy, like the video....was just wondering why my clutch cable kept breaking, i went through 2 cables in 1 year...i even wd40 the cable with a cable lubricator ..also my clutch is very hard to pull in, is it normal..the prior owner installed a racing clutch, could this be the reason?
I just got in from checking! So when i pull in the clutch then put in 1st gear i release tge clutch slowley & im doing 7-8mph,,and if i let go of the clutch to fast any normal bike will shut off" my bike wint it just moves fast,,,the idle is in 1000-little above that so idk
Replaced cable and have wayyy to much slack in the lever, when I back out the adjuster knob it gets a little tighter but nowhere close to what it should be! What did I do wrong? Anyone help plz!
Any ideas why my real weel spins while holding the clotch in with my rear tire up on the stand ...is there a problem with my clutch or just normal...2001 gsxr 750 ,30 k miles
Hmmm. Not sure about the Zx10r. You should consult your service manual for that. Nice bike though. As far liter bikes go, the 2011+ Zx10r feels amazingly perfect. Want to trade? lol
davetechme You have a choke on your left clip on. The left clip on on my k2 750 is from a 2000 600 after I crashed it, but I took the actually choke lever off.
That's what I iniitally thought too but it's not a choke. It's an idle adjuster for cold starts. Same function but technically not a carb and choke setup.
davetechme I've heard of the adjustable idle but didn't know it looked just like a choke. I actually posted on GSXR.COM recently about the k1 600 actually being carbrated because all of the ones I've seen had a choke.. or so I thought. Never really looked any deeper than that to see if it was in fact carburated. So thanks for telling me.
Will this process be the same for a 1998 Katana with a gsxr 600 swap...please help...I have the new cable already and I do not want to mess anything up during this process.
