For short putts, shorten the stroke to 1-3 inches backswing and 1-3 inches follow through keeping clubface square and exactly perpendicular to your stance. Address square, backswing square, contact square, follow through square. The short stroke makes it easier to keep square. So just pop in the 5 footer. If it misses and goes by 3 feet, pop that one in same method. This method is so reliable that even with an occasional miss, you know you have a high probability of making the next putt with same technique.
I've found out that I get good results using a slightly stronger grip for irons than for the driver. I'm thinking that it helps me square the clubface earlier on the irons since the ball is further back in my stance. The stronger grip for a driver swing makes me meet the ball with a slightly closed face, but a slightly weaker grip allows me to meet the ball square when the ball is on the tee, Does that make any sense? It's working, so I'm going to keep doing it. Until I watch another video, that is. 😄

“Throw the palms back under the body”….never heard anyone say this before vs. the sway or open hips. You have me curious. I’ll try this feeling tomorrow. This video was posted 5 years ago…there might be many improved players from watching this video since then…and it’s possible I’m going to punch myself in the face for not finding your video sooner.
This visual shows the club face in line with hands while the person is shrugging. All the tour pro's I've seen hit the ball behind the hands and are not square to the ball but using their hips through their legs to create rotational torque and is rotating ahead of square at impact. You watch a very different tour.
Great video great drill, took me years to discover this! starting late in golf i massively overdid the backswing pivot thinking i needed to make up for starting old! i overturned, swayed sometimes both! Its a lot less effort and movement than i was doing But here is my version,i imagine im holding a resistance band attached to a pulley where the ball is For me its a lower body move powered by ground pressure It feels 45 back 45 through To stay over the ball more or maybe due to my physique! my left hand comes off away from knee down towards ball and then so does myright hand This move gives the space and sequencing for my chest/shldr/arms to provide the speed and strike This move helped me get down to 5hcp @63! so it works!
I'm sorry, but this is terrible advice. You will not find one good player that has the shaft and arms in a straight line at impact when viewed from the front. You absolutely want the trail hand going over the lead hand, or the rotation Steve's talking about.
