One of the best mid century singers! My moms worked like a charm for all these years. Solid, well made classic.😊 The one I have is in a cherry cabinet and is one of the first zig zag machines made by singer. It has all these specialty cams to create dif stitches. Just oil it and keep it clean, they last forever with care.
I would die for this!!! My grandpa had one of these and passed it to my mother. Sadly it broke and there's no way of fixing it. I hope this one works. It's stunning. 🥹
when i have new sewing machine first thing i do...was studied the outer and inner mechanics ..i will open it i love tinkering my sewing machine i love how i will clean or fix it even if inner part or the delicate one I'll spend hours cleaning and studying the mechanic of the sewing machine brand or model. ❤
That is the machine I learned how to sew on. And when I was older my mom gave it to me. I used it until 1963 when I bought and Elna, which I am still using in 2024
Get on the internet look for the company path p a f f that usually have some kind of store that you can buy their sewing machines at but they also have places where you can take sewing machines any brand any age to get fixed and they're reasonable and I've taken them several very old sewing machines that they have fixed for me when I couldn't fix them myself I take sewing machines that I buy for 1015 even $20 and I run them through a rigorous sewing plate that I have of different stuff to do and then I reset all the all the dials to what they need to be for straight Stitch and make sure everything is there and I put a brand new seam ripper with them and I look for somebody that is wanting to learn to sew and that needs a sewing machine and then I give them give them the sewing machine and I teach them the basics I've been trying to make sure that the Next Generation learns to sew I'm almost 60 and I know that my boys both know how to sew but I know that my grandson doesn't know how to sew I've only seen him four times in his life and he's in his teens now but my granddaughter who's only only coming up on three I know that hopefully I'll still be around when she's ready to learn how to sew I learned that he just seven
I found a quilt when I bought a box of material at a yard sell and now I have to square it up I think it's size is 108by 108 this no problem just time and patience to fix it I love this 💓
Hi, I am new to sewing and bought this really cute table runner. Thank you for this wonderful video. I have used it many times. My question is that I recieved a large green print fabtic that I assume is the back to this runner. But no clear instruction to how this and batting ( not included) are attached to the front section. I am still sewing the red and green square border. Thank you for helping me. I have really enjoyed this experience!
The large piece is your backing. Have you ever done quilting before? I recommend machine quilting this over tying it so that it lays flat on your table. And the batting that I used in it is a cotton/poly 80/20 blend.
I really appreciate this video, and how meticulous you are with measuring, pressing, etc. I am halfway finished, & am pretty new to quilting, so the triangles and gnome noses took a lot of time. Also, new to my machine, so it's been slow going. But I am glad I started now, so I'll have this for next Christmas!
I've been procrastinating for months on proceeding with my quilt, knowing the top is anything but square and had no idea how to fix it. Hopefully this helps!
SUGGESTION: When matching the tree/hat section to the bottom section, put a pin in the top seam an poke it in the bottom seam to make sure they are properly aligned THEN place a second pin to the left of the first pin. When sewing the seam, stitch to the first pin, remove it and carefully stitch to the pinned seam, remove the pin and continue to stitch the seam.
