I Rarely go to good will anymore and super careful of prices. I can get better, cleaner, cheeper good stuff @ places like; Ross, tj max, home goods, marshalls, burlington coat factory, ect.
Hello! Thank you so much for watching my video! My Poshmark is the same as my RU-vid: Dglamourista, however, I have not listed them yet! I hope to do so soon!
Hello Danielle. Thank you so much for sharing the realities of teaching. As a HS math teacher I can completely relate. Although last year I was blessed with such a great group of students. I was so sad to see the school year end. Unfortunately I am already anticipating troubles next year as I am being switched to a math course for students who have not passed, which unfortunately is usually filled with students who are generally naughty. Unfortunately I am not in a place that I can walk away from teaching as I am so close to retirement. Seems I am stuck to struggle through. This is my second career so I fully agree with and support changing careers to something you enjoy. No one should be stuck in a career that is not satisfying. Just before the pandemic I created my youtube channel, which is about educational technology, figured it was a good fit beings that I had recently graduated with a Masters in Educational Technology. The pandemic definetely gave my channel a boost. I am happy to hear that you are stepping out in faith and pursuing a passion. You know the saying if you love what you do to earn a living you never really work a day in your life. Seems your interests and hobbies would be interesting to hear about. Wishing you the best of luck and looking forward to following your journey here on YT.
Thank you so much for your wonderful and encouraging comment, I really appreciate you taking the time to write all of that! ❤️ I also wish you a successful year next year and remain hopeful for you 🤞 teaching is challenging for sure, hang in there. I’m glad you will continue to make a difference (even if it doesn’t feel like it now). Hang in there!! ❤️
Subscribed. You said you re-uploaded your video. Did you really do that or did you just upload a new thumbnail? Do we lose our watch hours on a video if we re-upload the video? Thanks for showing both thumbnails. That was helpful. I hope you get monetized very soon.
Hello Elaine! Yes I did delete my first short and reuploaded the short again to RU-vid. I didn’t see an option to change the thumbnail to the existing video, so I re-uploaded it. As for watch time, I’m honestly not sure? 🤔 I hope that helps!
I work at a goodwill we aren’t dumb we know clothing brands the better the brand the more money 💁🏻♀️ also the money raised by goodwill goes to great causes the company supports look into it before complaining
I used to thrift a lot more than I do now only because I don’t shop as much due to my job. But whenever I find myself in the thrift store, the prices of almost any namebrand shock me on a regular basis. Anything from Anthropologie to free people Etc., is what I tend to veer towards and the prices are always way higher than they should be.
What I don't like about the Good Will I go to is some times items are damage some clothes are nasty it smells so does the shoes then have the nerve to sell , sell shoes for&20 or 30 they crazy ..
when i worked at good will i would literaly take bags of clothes home to wash them and take them back so at least they were clean. Most people who shop at good will are homelss or have very little money to be able to waste by washing them. there used to be a time when dishes , clothes and other items were usable right out of the shop. when i had to do community service , my job was the dishes at a St Vincents Catholic charities shop. they told me to just dip the dishes in soapy water and set it to dry. Um no , i will not be responsible if someone gets sick because they didnt wash the dish b4 useing( again some people just dont as they assume its clean already) so i went above and beyond and actually washed every single dish in the entire place so that we could tell the customers they were clean and ready to use. I even got them to let me wrap each dish in newspaper and pile them in matched sets in boxes for easy transportation. there were not many matched sets , so i would also make up sets that were close to matching. Shoes i would spray with a shoe deoderant , and furniture got dusted with carpet powder and vacuumed. this all just at the one thift shop i had to do community service at. lasted 6 months , but those 6 months were very fulfilling to me as i saw tons of repeat customers who were thilled at the changes i had done. it didnt last though as soon as i left , things went back to nasty.
Yes! I go thrifting and I'm always shocked by the high prices. So I go to Ross, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, places like that because it's new stuff and sometimes chaper.
We had this problem at our goodwill actually. My family donates a lot of clothes, appliances, decor, toys, etc every year but one day when my mom was at goodwill, she saw the stuff we donated being sold at insanely high prices. She ended up writing to the higher ups scolding them and the prices at that specific Goodwill went back down for several years. Now they're starting to creep back up but nothing as bad as this.
I live in the Midwest and the goodwill here don't have any idea what good brands are, so everything just has a general price, BUT there are places that price items up if they are specifically curated thrift shops.
Yep we have store similar to goodwill called Savers where they receive all the inventory as free donations then sell everything at ridiculous prices. Used to be good, last couple years the prices changed, we used to go to shop, now we go for a good laugh. Snow globes covered in dust, porcelain is chipped or broken completely off and the water is BROWN is $6-$12. The free tin that holds tea bags is $6.50. It's less than that price WITH THE TEA IN IT! Haha I wish people would stop paying for it, like who is buying this stuff? My bf and I go and roast everything on the shelves and laugh at the prices and walk out the door, it's legit just where we go to laugh now which is too bad because we used to buy a lot of really cool stuff there.
Resellers push prices up as the corporate greed took over. The corporations cant handle citizens earning more money on the free trash left by someone else, so they drove the prices up and starve the truely needy of these items that can make or break someones life. I used to shop at good will for clothes and dishes when i was young and had a new family. Now i cant even afford to step inside as everything is priced like a department store. There needs to be a boycot on these "thrift" shops and force them to lower prices. also need to stop the resellers . greed is a son of a bitch.
I resonate with this so much. I was very much in the same place as you when I quit teaching. Keep listening to those feelings! Ps I’m totally biased, but stuff getting a traditional job, you are 100% made for so much more!! PPS so happy the algo put your video on my feed - you’re awesome!
Thank you so much for watching and for your comment! 😊 you totally should!! If you haven’t already, check out the channel Silver and Solo because she totally inspired me to start pursuing content creation!! 😊
I’m sure Tiktok and social media has a lot to do with it, but I personally like how their leggings fit me and the quality. I also like that they offer free hemming and shipping. But you can definitely find amazing dupes on Amazon, etc!!
