This channel is mainly my Fail blog for the jumps that I have messed up for one reason or another. This is for instructional purposes and so that I won't forget the risks in the long run.
I started skydiving in 2009 and now in August 2016 have 644 jumps in total with 285 wingsuit flights.

My first cutaway was a high speed pilot chute in tow malfunction. I got my reserve open by 1500ft. I only had 143 jumps at the time. It actually gave me a confidence boost in my reserve gear that I had never seen or flown before. It gave me confidence in the emergency procedures and process. I got really really drunk that night

I used to put my pin in, pull it back out retighten the pack and put the pin back in so I knew it didn't take hardly any pressure to release the pin...btw my first reserve ride was on my 16th jump.

@@not_stephen If you're pilot chute is out of its BOC and you have to go to reserve you should always cut away. Only time you shouldn't chop is when you go straight to reserve like in an emergency exit scenario at low altitude.

My first total was in 1976 jumping the old military rigs with a paracommander. Talk about a hard opening with a chest mounted reserve and no sleeve!!! We had to make 50 jumps on rounds before transitioning to squares. Really nice to “upgrade back then”! Cheers, Joe D6575

Well played mate. Nice EPs. Be careful with stowing that PC too well, if your main d-bag drops out you need to be able to toss that fast
@Leksi80
@Leksi80 6 лет назад
True, in a way. That's why I didn't close my suit all the way up just to be sure(wasn't sure the pin was really jammed the way it was - thou it felt really stuck before releasing the reserve). In that moment thou, if the pin would have opened there would have not been anything to generate the force needed to open the double stowed loops of the D-bag. No airspeed to mention(just riding the reserve) and the PC was in my suit. So the risk of 2 our after the PC-to-suit insertions was rather low.
