Thrips can also cause yellowing. I thought I knew all about the symptoms of thrips, being used to find some on my Monsteras and Philodendrons. But on thick Alocasias, I find that thrips are just making the leaves look sick and sad... and yellow on the edges. You don't clearly see the spots were the thrips have munched on the leaf. I wish I had knew this earlier in my plant hobby.
