Glad that you made these videos for the kid version ! Since I just came from your other channel lol soooo it’s hard for us to find good books that don’t have inappropriate content. A lot of series books have too much dark magic or things or other things so I’m glad that the good and the beautiful have a book list ! Right now my 8th grader is currently reading “space runners” but he likes nonfiction books and especially if they are based on history.
My 8th grader is struggling through school. Is it better to wait until she hit high school to home school or start anytime? Do you need to notify the school or the school district that you are home schooling? New to this as you can see. Thanks for the content.
I am not a big fan of all of this home schooling stuff. I know of people that are in terrible financial situations that home school their kids. Some of them have marriage problems due to financial struggles.
I get it about the back issues. Once, all i did was sit on the arm of my couch to reach down to pet the dog a minute, and when i stood up, i was done for the day.
Happy New year Jenn MIke and all the kiddos!! Hope your back will soon feel easier ,the weather doesn`t help i`ve found.Great excuse to relax for a bit and watch your video!! Take care ,stray warm and feel better soon.xx
Hello Jenn! It's great to see you! I've been playing catchup on videos. The one you posted about losing your grandmother brought tears to my eyes. She sounded like a wonderful and very special lady that had a great love for Jesus. I am so very sorry and can empathize. I have lost both of my parents, and it takes time to get through the grieving process...keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. 🙏🙏 Also, I sure hope and pray your back and hip feel better. I loved seeing Jake. He seems like such a sweet dog. Btw, your lunch looked delicious. Humus is good with so many things. You guys take care and stay well! Love and blessings to all and Happy New Year! 🎉❤🎉
So nice to see you! I have a new year's resolution to eat more vegetables and fruit. Your snack looked pretty tasty. My husband moved my exercise bike into our bedroom so it would be more accessible for me. I had the thought to do a bike "ride" in the mornings and my usual 3 mile run in the afternoons. I definitely have a sweet tooth. M & M's is a favorite, but it's ok because I have a diet soda with it! 😉 We love puzzles here too. We have Charles Wysockis puzzles also. My girls and I are slow in getting back into the homeschool flow. We took an extra week just to play some new board games that we didn't have a chance to do. So much fun! Hope your back behaves itself! ❤🙏🏻
I’m so sorry your back’s hurting Jen 😢 I’m currently in my 6th month of dealing with a prolapsed L3/4 disc so I feel your pain! I’m in the middle of an absolutely unreal sci/fi book by Stephen King called Fairy Tale and it’s so good!! I get all my books from the library as I can’t re read books once I’ve read it already 😂 I hope you recover quickly 🥰
Hope you’re on the mend soon… books are great company when you can’t be too active. I’ve heard of that book but have never picked up a Stephen King book, this might have to be the year!
my nana and pawpaw are my only still living grandparents. I hate to think of them some day passing and they are in their 70s but they are both in pretty good health so pending like a sudden heart attack i dont think it will be tommorrow but still hard especially since i know at 38 alot ppl i know my age has no living grandparents anymore. my moms parents i did not even know her dad because well he was already in his late 30s when my mom was born and died before i was born because she is his youngest child of 6 kids and her mom died 6 years ago. i was not as close to them as i was to my dads parents i think maybe even partly because my brothers and I are their only grandchildren and my moms parents had over 30 grandkids
we dont get cold til around thanksgiving here in georgia normally but it was freezing halloween night we had to rethink costumes because the costumes we used for a party last saturday when it was in the 80s was to warm weather for trick or treating
im glad to see you in every video though years later i still miss the daily vlogs its crazy how not boring a large familys daily life can be. I have 4 siblings but we were not all at home at the same time because theres large age gaps in our family.
Hey mama! Can you share what you put in to make the artisan bread? It looks really good & simple to try. I also haven't had a chance to make sourdough well. 😊❤
Dinner looked delicious. How do you manage lifting heavier casserole dishes/crock pots/saucepans etc? At the moment i can`t lift the kettle without wincing! Take care of yourself.xx
Love these kind of vlogs Jenn.Your home looks so nice and cosy ,ready for the Autumn (Feels more like Winter here across the pond:).The kitchen must smell heavenly too!! Hope your sleeping gets easier.I`ve pulled a muscle in my neck so am sleeping with a scarf around me ,to try and ease the discomfort. Have a great weekend ,all of you.xxx
I'm so very sorry for your loss, Jenn. Sending love and prayers for peace. When you describe how amazing she was it made me smile because I could see how huge of a blessing you were to her and the happiness you brought to her life. I hope you can find some peace in that as you brought so much joy to her life.
Living with chronic pain does interfere with every day life and can be so frustrating ,aswell as painful.I hope you start feeling a little better and your back that bit easier each day.I`m so sorry to hear about your grandma ,so many emotions and so many memories.I think i`m getting old as i find myself coming out with things my grandma would say:).Take care Jenn ,so good to see you back again.Sending you much love and comforting *hugs*.xx
I can identify with you in so many ways on this! I had a similar group of events that happened last school year. I was dealing with back and hip issues after having our 6th baby and my Grandmother passed away, as well. It was a really difficult season in our homeschool. I'm so sorry, that is so hard!
Sorry to hear you went through a difficult time as well. It’s all a reminder to me of just how much is out of our control and how quickly life can take a turn. Our only hope is in Jesus.💗
I'm so sorry for the loss of your grandmother. I lost mine in December... it is so hard when you're that close. I caught myself smiling as you talked about her in this video. (((HUGS)))
I’ll have a high schooler starting next year and I’m excited but nervous about the credits aspect. What online program do you use? I have no homeschooling friends with high schoolers so I try to learn what I can on this platform. I appreciate all your videos!
We use a program specific to our province and graduation credit requirements in Canada. I suggest you look for ones in the province/state where you homeschool.
If you mean novels, we cover most of the classics. Authors like Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, C.S Lewis, many autobiographies as well. My older kids have read 1984, Jane Eyre, The Scarlett Letter, Brave New World, The Screwtape Letters, The Hobbit, and the list goes on!
