Poland exists in the midst of a crowd of major powers, and its land and people are deprived of even their pride. However, no matter how hard the chains were put on them, they always resisted, fought, tore the chains off and stood up. It is truly the land of the phoenix. I am Japanese, but I feel sympathy for them.
We do not have the sea to separate ourselves from the continent and have opportunities like Britain or Japan and plan politics from the sidelines. We are in the heart of the continent, sandwiched between the western and eastern powers and we must manage to survive.
Poland has an extraordinary history, so much that is tragic and so much heroism, Did I correctly identify a Hawker Hurricane fighter plane during the WWII segment? It's only onscreen for a couple of seconds and I could not see whether it had RAF roundels or any other insignia but presumably this represented one of the brave free Poles who flew with the RAF during the Battle of Britain and helped defeat the nazis.
