This is why I love history, no matter the nation there is always a wonderful story even if it ends in sorrow. For every country there are trials and triumph, the tale of a nation is that of cruelty, happiness, struggle, and triumph. Each nation is a dream of something that they think is better,even if it doesn't turn out that way.
Poland had at least 3 downfalls , 2 times wiped off the map and yet we came back each time - every failure is fertilizer for success i would argue - as long as there is spirit in the nation .
Poland has an extraordinary history, so much that is tragic and so much heroism, Did I correctly identify a Hawker Hurricane fighter plane during the WWII segment? It's only onscreen for a couple of seconds and I could not see whether it had RAF roundels or any other insignia but presumably this represented one of the brave free Poles who flew with the RAF during the Battle of Britain and helped defeat the nazis.

Britain in WW2 was not a hero, but a coward. UK was a Polish ally, but she preferred to protect her own ass. Besides this is island, surrounded by ocean and sea, Poland was between Russia and Germany, and still exists. This is something.
RDrumcajsek I am Lithuanian, but we suffered a similiar fate in WWII, although more Lithuanians died from Stalins decision to send people to starve in Siberian tundras, than from Hitler. But France and England lost a lot of people too. In both wars they lost millions of people aswell, it's just that well, they had more people to throw into the war machine :/
RDrumcajsek Sorry for the late reply. Yes we lost way more if we look at things in terms of overall impact and precentages, but both of those countries lost way more people and money in the war than we did. Was it 10-15 millions or so? That's 5 times the population of Lithuania. And some historians estimate that Mother Russia in all it's glory lost 70 million soldiers. That is half the current population. But these countries got the spoils of war, they didn't suffer decades of oppression and senseless murder, starvation. It's difficult to say who lost more. They lost more flat out, but it impacted us more.
