Thanks for another great video! As a newbie tutor myself, I love that you tell us how everything went with the things that you tried! I saw someone mention this slowed down version of the Preposition song hand motions that I will be using to learn them, if that helps you. :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Erlk1LHPTHg.html
@@emileerobitaille7103 I bought it, looked through it, and didn’t really care for it so I went with Daily Grams instead. I know a lot of CC families love it but I just wasn’t a fan.
Sure thing! Here's weeks 1 and 2: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_0JtVhZz5y4.html I'll do a video or post about our at home schedule too
I have ALWAYS appreciated your prep videos. I am like you in wanting it prepped well in advance. I would love to see what you ended up doing each week. So one vote for more tutor videos 🙋🏻♀️.
Just CC specific? Or everything in general? If you're just asking about CC: we spend about 10 minutes listening to the memory work. When my kids were younger they did 1-2 simple worksheets that went along with the memory work, and that was it. Now that they're older we spend some time watching some related videos or reading a chapter from Story of the World or I have them do some hands on items...but to answer you question, maybe 30 minutes a day, max on Foundations related things at home? For everything in general, when they were younger we spent less than 20 hours, my oldest is in CC Essentials now and I have 3 to homeschool so school takes us 3-4 hours.
I got the homeschool planner and am disappointed. I expressed my concern to them but they brushed me off. It is all undated (fine..) but does NOT come with any of the monthly, daily dot stickers, or monthly tabs (the undated child and the teacher planners at target both come with all the stickers). They said they only sell the daily dots so you would need to purchase separately. They do NOT have an option for months tabs so you will need a label maker. I also do not like that it did not come with the option to add extra record pages and clear paper holders. The new features for this versus the teacher planner are not worth it to me. Maybe others will love it....
Did you continue to use your single stroller or did this replace it? I currently have a single jogger and a wonderfold that I only like using for like all day events with coolers. With number 2 on the way was looking at getting one to replace the jogger instead of adding a double to the group.
I also used my single stroller, especially if I was just going out with one child. My single stroller is very small and lightweight and opens with a one handed snap, so I prefer it for certain things. But if I hadn't already owned that one, then I would have used the Donkey for everything.
This was exactly what I needed! Thank you so much for this thorough video. This is my first time trying out CCC connect and unfortunately, I don’t get to join a community to help me with it. I’m super excited to get it started. ❤
Wow! So happy I came across your channel! We are starting our 12th year of homeschooling (10th year of CC!). I have four kids. My oldest two are in Challenge 1 and A. Then the younger two are in Foundations. I also love Logic of English and I am in B with my youngest and used A-D with my second child a few years ago. We are also reading Story of the World Vol 1 together this year. I am super excited to watch your Cycle 1 video! I hear you on science. I would love to hear more about that science curriculum!
Brand new CC momma here...I love this video breaking everything down!!!! Questions, so many questions...How do you decide what worksheets for each day for the worksheet binders? Do you go over each subject each day with different worksheets?
@@elizabethhumke6849 we don’t do worksheets for each subject each day, I mostly just print the worksheets that I like and then divide them up among the 4 days. Usually they do 1-2 worksheets per day.
Wow!! I’m so impressive you prepared all resources!! So much great information!! Thank you so much!! I have do you use only CC or do you use another curriculum along side with CC? I’ve been CC for 4 years since my kids was 4. I was just light touch as memories all subjects. So I didn’t spend a lot of time so I used another curriculum but last year after we went through all cycle, I wanted to dig in more details on CC side but I did another curriculum but I realized ( it was too late) CC history was American history but another curriculum was world history 🙈 I don’t touch much world history eventually… it was too much!! so this year I want to try to focus CC. Watching your videos it seems enough just focus CC. Do you have any advice throughout your experience?? Thank you!!
Yes, we use other curriculum alongside CC. For example here's what all we're using this year: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gCpDY9arWtY.htmlsi=y79BYqZSldYKS0q2 and here's what we used last year: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8cr84QPQ660.htmlsi=QAVia2RyqtG_pQrr
@@MyChocolateMoments thank you!! I watched last year what you did! It’s pretty simple! That’s what I’m going to do simple for my 4th grade and 2 grade kids!! Thank you again!!
Where did you find the daily sentences written on the analytical task sheet? Was it CC forums or Onward? I can't seem to find them. Thanks for all the videos and sharing what works for you!
Would you recommend moving into the upper elementary levels from another curriculum? Or would it be too difficult for them if they didn’t start out with RS from the beginning? I have a 4th and 6th grader I’m considering moving over to RS.
@@stefanietaylor4989 lots of people start RS in upper elementary grades! Some will drop back a few levels and go through them quickly to make sure their child learns the strategies RS teaches, others start at whichever level is recommended after their child takes the placement test.
Thank you!! Is my first year starting CC I was very loss and I found you.. I do have a question were do I find the CC memory wall (trifold) sheets? I do have CC but is hard for me to find it.. thank you again
I’m not a CC member because there is no community near me and I can’t afford it this year. You spoke about a schedule in an Onward magazine but when I searched for that I need to be a member to receive that schedule. Is there an alternative? I do plan on joining next year as a local community at a local church is setting that up this year and opening next year. But I’d love to get started this year. I’ll have kids in foundations and essentials. I really would love to do it at home this year the best I can.
@@christinlattimore2685 I’ve only ever seen that schedule available on CC Connected. The Essentials curriculum is numbered 1-24 so it follows along with the CC and you do one section per week. You can just do IEW alongside that and it doesn’t have to match up perfectly, it varies from community to community anyway.

Thank you so much for putting this together. This is my first year doing CC with my 4 year old and I had been a little overwhelmed and your video was extremely informative and helpful! Thank you so much!!!!
Would you consider making large movable charts for the whiteboard for the other main charts like Chart C (verbs), Chart E (nouns), etc? I have really appreciated all your prep videos. So many good ideas and your down-to-earth, relatable approach is appreciated!
Okay so I'm just honored that you linked my Pinterest Boards!!! I'm just sitting here watching your awesome and informative video and I was like..."is she talking about my boards?" and then I checked the blog post! I'm so glad others are finding these useful!! ** I also have RU-vid playlists if anyone needs those!
Can you share your favorite RU-vid songs playlist? We are starting CC on our own at home for now, and would really appreciate some great songs for memory work.
I don't have a lot of playlists to share, sorry! I've made some for CC Happy mom's geography songs, you can see those in the playlists on my channel. Other than that I just use a song here and song there but don't have them in a playlist.
I have a question. Do you feel CC is the best program to begin with if my child is going into 6th grade and has been in public school until now? I visited our local CC and although my child has been an A student throughout school, the background in science and history the other students had was overwhelming.
@@LisaCascio-Lott I would never want to say CC is the “best” program because every child and every family are different so it’s not one size fits all. That being said, tons of kids start CC in middle school and do great with it so if you’re leaning toward CC I say go for it, he will likely do great! When CC was originally designed it was for high school only - they later created the Foundations program to prepare students for Challenge (7th-12th grade) but you can absolutely jump in having not done Foundations and that’s fine.
So helpful! Your geography, history, and science are all the same link though... I'd love the link to those science videos if you don't mind updating the links! :)
I've updated the links in the description so they should be right now. They're also all in this post: mychocolatemoments.com/2024/07/26/classical-conversations-cycle-1-ideas/
Thank you so much for putting so much time into sharing all of your resources and thoughts. We are new to CC and I cannot tell you how helpful your videos have been! Thank you!!! :D
Thanks for all the great ideas! It’ll be out first year and I have to say your ideas tempt me to do it all right away 😅 But my oldest is only 4 and I’m sure it’ll be overkill. I really love the idea of displaying the weeks memory work, though! Thanks again!
Ive read that Fractions will be updated again at end of August so i decided im just gonna print as i go this year. Too many corrections still going in. The printed Complex just had errata posted also.
@@sarahp9028 I do! I’m definitely going to do a tutor prep video once I get around to finishing my tutor prep 😂 Maybe more through the years if people want them.
