I know you said, “I said all that and I could’ve just said this”, but the information you shared when you elaborated was very helpful to give context and also to help understand both your reasons and other approaches to a child not having multiplication tables memorized. Thank you for posting these videos. They have been so helpful. My daughter is dyslexic and we have been working on different therapies and stuff to help her brain make the connections she needs and math is finally working for her in part because of how awesome RightStart is. Thanks for sharing the common things people come accross. That is very helful to have realistic expectations going into this.
Thank you! The not mastery of multiplication facts is not a Righstart math issue. 😅 kids struggle more and more to mastery multiplication. My oldest is in 5th grade and finally she got it🙌🏽 that is why there are a lot of supplemental multiplications mastery programs. I do think is a general issue that is being talked a lot on all type of curriculum/homeschool communities. I do have a Dyslexic kid and considering Rightstar math. Thank you! The ways Rightstart approaches math look fun. I am looking for math curriculum for my youngest and ended up watching through all your math reviews. This may be a fun supplement every now and then of how math can be approached in other ways after we have mastered our lessons. I am currently using Christian light education math for my older children. FYI- Check numbers are also in CLE.
This was helpful! We're starting D after the new year, most likely, and I had assumed the skip counting memory work would make multiplication go smoothly. There is memory work music we use by King Things that has multiplication, not just skip counting. Maybe that will help!
It might for some but in my son’s case he can skip count in order but when you ask one stand alone fact like 4x7 he can’t figure out the answer quickly. Same with the King’s Things songs - we’ve listened to those but that didn’t help much either when it came to recalling the facts individually. Playing games over and over is working though!
Hi! So we are new to rightstart, we are transferring from the good and the beautiful, I did the online assessment and my 8 year old son who is going into 3rd(finished 2nd grade math with TG&B) tested for level D. Would you recommend that or should we start at level C??
@@chanelblas3974 If he tested into D I’d probably go with that, but if he’a not strong in adding and subtracting I’d probably drop back to C. RS teaches 4 digit addition and subtraction in B and C, so I’d want to make sure they had those concepts mastered.
