In this youtube channel, I regularly (or not) share video tutorials for Smile Game Builder, RPG Developer Bakin, game comments, footage and trailers of my own games, etc.

I captured screenshots of the characters in game first, then applied a comic filter in CapCut (I used its Chinese version 剪映). Then I used AI to polish them and edited them in PS where neccessary. But it's actually not as time-consuming as it sounds like.
Hello, I'm Brazilian and I've watched several of your videos. I'm studying the baking tool to create my RPG, but I'm having trouble importing the 3D avatar; they are coming out colorless. I've watched several videos to see if they can solve it, but they haven't been successful. If possible, please help me.
As far as I know, you may need to check the material type in Blender whether it's principled BSD or not. In Principled BSD mode, change the base color to Image texture and select your texture pictures. Then make sure the texture files are in the same directory as your fbx file when importing them to Bakin.
@@knifishgames Hello, I tried again, and this time it worked with color because of the textures, but it ended up being huge and going off the map. I think I'll leave it alone for now; I'm still not very familiar with the tool, and I'm learning since it's for my thesis. Thank you for your attention and help. I really like your content about the tool; I'm learning a lot, even though sometimes RU-vid translates it incorrectly.
Not really. You can't adjust the rendering and filter in SGB. You can't jump up or swim either. Plz take a look at my previous videos of The Indernal Return which was made with SGB. It's almost the best quality that I can do within that engine.
@knifishgames Really cool indeed! I just started learning how to use this engine, and your videos are really helpful specially to see what is possible to do. Could you explain how the moon surface/ground was done? ` It does not look like it uses tiled blocks, how did you do this? 🙂
@@knifishgames I found a bundle where includes bakin + smile builder in steam. What is the differences between only bakin and this bakin + smile builder? I'm too confuse. Also, thanks for the fast reply.
@@Neston64 SGB is a previous generation, it's a 32 bit engine but is easier to learn. Bakin is a more modern and advanced 64 bit engine that supports 10+ times more functions, rendering effects, etc. You can join the official discord group to find more about the info you want. discord.gg/nu8Fu6wJ
yes, I lately used the 'make event walk to a coordination' function to let the character walk off the bed. It looks more consistent than this. But if you can make a motion, that'd be the best.
I guess you can say they're both unique in their own ways with the smile game builder I get the warm fuzzy feeling kind of like the N64 Due to the simplicity of the graphics being simple and easier to become cute anyway While the Bakin You get this more cool and cold feeling to it Due to the graphics being more rougher kind of like the PlayStation 1 or Like a Sega Saturn type of deal that's what you get with the bakin one. Either way I guess it's all based on preferences rather than a versus. You can go with the smile game builder which gives you more simple graphics that makes your game more warm or you can go with bakin which gives you that cool cold more detail feel to it which can also be warm if you make it there.
Hello. Thank you for making tutorial videos for RPG Developer Bakin. Definitely helpful when trying to learn the program a bit better and nice seeing what people are able to do with it.
There is a real significant difference between the two. Kind of like the Megadrive/Genesis and the Playstation. But each is unique in its own way, serves its own purpose and gives its own style. I _love_ that winter scene and the inside the igloo in Bakin!!
Haha, exactly Sega to PS🤣 I like making comparisons between them regularly just to remind myself how good Bakin is doing. But yeah, SGB in retrospect brought me a lot of excitement and good memories

Hello Knifish Games, do you know how to make the camera follow the character like when I turn left or right the camera rotates too and automatically follows the character, you know the ps1 or n64 adventure games Spyro, Mario etc.. please let me know
In Game Definition 〉 Rules and Operations 〉 Camera Operation, turn on 'Get behind player automatically'. This function doesn't perform perfectly though

@@knifishgames Oh, yes, I know that, and you're right, it's not very functional, it doesn't work perfectly, the camera doesn't rotate together, it's a shame

@@knifishgames you don't know how to put these together in the script? bind DOWN PAD_LEFT_THUMB_Y_MINUS 1.0, DPAD_DOWN bind RIGHT PAD_LEFT_THUMB_X_PLUS 1.0, DPAD_RIGHT with bind CAMERA_HORIZONTAL_ROT_CLOCKWISE PAD_RIGHT_THUMB_X_MINUS 1.0 bind CAMERA_HORIZONTAL_ROT_COUNTER_CLOCKWISE PAD_RIGHT_THUMB_X_PLUS 1.0 I wanted while he was walking and the camera could turn too, I already tried but without results
I used SANA's camera plugin to settle the camera so that when the girl jumps up the camera won't move vertically with her. There are no other plugins in this game.
Not robust enough to handle action games like in unity or godot. But the team is making efforts to improve the physical engine step by step. You may find MelonToucan, SANA, and That Dale Dude who made ABS systems and scripts for Bakin. I plan to apply MelonToucan's system.
@@gmoogle2615 I modified one of the Smile Characters models to make this one. It’s a dlc pack of smile game builder. I enjoy working with Bakin a lot. It performs well if you are not making a vast world.
Haha. Also I'm trying to make this not that much like Super Mario Wonder. If only the camera didn't move up and down when the player's jumping, it would be better.
This is an awesome tutorial! There are several ways of doing this and yours is the simplest and easiest. Of course, not wanting to do things simply or easily, mine is a bit more complex. Haha!
Thank you. Haha, yeah. I'm still exploring the possibilities of Bakin's layout tool. I saw some amazing layouts others did and wonder how they did them. Please share your techniques😁
@@knifishgames I sure will and soon. Been playing around with layouts quite extensively lately, especially for The Explorer's Guild. I'm sure you've seen the basic Banking System I did. I'm aiming to get back into the tutorials again. The question is _when_ now.
