Join me in discovering what motorcycling is like in eastern Europe, behind the Iron Curtain. We do news, fun trips, reviews, how-tos and more. Stick around and have fun.
I run once with an BMW R1200 GS Adventure 2013 and was amazing, i felt like driving a tank but at the same time a powerfull gokart, i wish i knew how it is to be in a F1 car to write in here but unfurtunate i dont know. Hi Calin, off topic question, i heard that its better to have white helmet on, probably cause its more visible in trafic. Thats the reason your helmet its white? I'm just wondering!
Hi dude, I haven't seen any new content from your chanel for a while so are some changes made or something else.. I appreciate your work wery much. Regards
No heated grips option?! The pre-2021 model has a connector under the plastic body for the oem heated grips and the temperature appears on the display. Has that now been dropped? However, at the price they charge for them, it's cheap, quick and easy to add a pair of Koso or Oxford heated grips. Centre stands are always a must in my book, but many people don't like them, so the option is fine for me. To add grips and stands, etc would merely push the price up Electronic Cruise control is the big omission - or the option to add it - now that it would be so easy to add it in the factory.
As a motorcyclist, you are not really a role model....vehicles overtaking on the right just don't do it!!! Is life threatening , and is a typical anti-social driving behavior.
Just ordered my 2nd Xadvç When you said you'll be also talking about the negatives, knowing there is no negatives, I was getting my fingers ready to type away a long paragraph why I disagree with you. However hearing the negatives you had to say, I totally agree. Especially with an adv bike selling the adv footpegs for a price. It's now also decided to do that for the handlebars!!! The stock handlebars are skinny and you have to get the covering parts from the accessories magazine. Shame on Honda on these points. BUT on all other 98% of the factors, this is the best bike I've ridden in the last 25-30 years and will continue this way for a long time if not forever.
They ( The Major Motorcycle Manufacturers.) were going to do this with PLASTIC CHAINS . Plastic Chains were touted as the FUTURE . But I do not think they were able to make it work. Yet.
You asked Favorite Settings: TOUR Mode is fine for most situations and I prefer S2 for the DCT Gearbox. I have a User1 Setup for Extra Sporty On Road Power and User2 for Extreme Off Road Conditions. Again I use S2 DCT Gearbox setting because it feels like a AScooter in Drive or S1. (S2 is Perfect... S3 is Insane!)
Personally I think the engine is a bit big, the same bike with a 1300 engine would be perfect, better fuel economy with less wear on the brakes & tires, also add a fuel gauge & locking filler cap.
It is supposed to replace the ST1300 Pan European. comparing it to the Africa twin therefore is pointless. But don't worry. It does not outperform the Pan European on any aspect.
Hey brother. Fantastic analysis. I have a Tuareg. And I can't argue with your assessments. The heat you are feeling on your legs is due to the Catalytic converter. There are options out there to put on a different exhaust and that completely eliminates that heat. (Not legal in all regions.) THAT SAID, I'm visiting Romania in a couple weeks. Are motorcycle rentals/tours available in Romania? I plan on being in Bucharest for a few days, then Brasov. But I have a couple days left. I'd like to see your country on two wheels if possible. Thx.
I have the 2018 manual version and have logged about 28k miles on it. You mentionrd no thermometer. I bought a $10 aquarium thermometer and it is accurate and works fine. Great bike except for the seat after a couple hours..
