My goodness, any info on the Bannedstory alternative? I used to use it for sprites in my maple animations. Was gutted to have checked on it a couple years ago and find it had been taken down.

I remember people theorizing what it did but iirc it never actually had any functionality and just displayed a factor of dex and a few other stats lmao

For the town lag which was literally the reason I quit the game I can confirm it started (or at least got bad enough for me to quit outright) around Dual Blades release. and it took Nexon FOUR YEARS to finally do the band-aid fix of moving the event npcs elsewhere in their own area though players told them the cause since like day one. Ironically after the band-aid fix like within the week they gave the real fix. I honestly believe to this very day Maplestory lack of players is a direct result of Nexon incompetence to fix the issue in a timely matter. I to this day whenever I play GMS (I generally try to stick to private servers though) if I ever make a ticket I always leave a reminder that it took them four years to fix that issue and to maybe give a damn about their job.

Took me quite a while to realize the 'talk to npc' button functioned as an auto clicker. I got right up behind the pq npc so nobody could double click me (though right click and 'whisper' could let you have a ctrl+c list of people to track) Felt so good to run circles around a party leader that had kicked me.
kpq has my dearest memory of maplestory <3 on party was so good that some cash shop venturer in the party made fireworks once i usually was the fastest onto the barrels, and took number 3, since that'd be faster than the average person. and I liked the challenge. jumping onto the edge and slide down to the target barrel. mmh! ^^
if i had a bunch of money id set up a modded server of maplestory where when your character dies its deleted. the first person to hit lvl 200 will make a million
People kept asking for Showa Town way back in the day because at the time it was "THE" training spot in JMS By the time we got it in GMS that just wasn't the case anymore.

when was flame score released? can't remember if that existed when i played I remember doing solo only on reboot in 2018~ and this brings back lots of nostalgia never managed to beat CVellum though.
Your videos on maplestory have been more helpful than any guide on RU-vid in terms of making the game feel more approachable as a someone mostly blind to it. Out of context, so much about maplestory feels out of nowhere and disorganized, and I am still learning the mindset to have the most fun while playing. Everyone in beginner guides talk about optimization and things you HAVE to do or else you’ll be screwed, and it put me off from playing for a while. Something about seeing the more historical side of the game makes me more interested to explore the world of the game and worry about the optimization stuff later.
Lion Kings was fun in EMS... we had 3x exp for months going on and it didnt end till the meta went to future hene... tbh the burn out was bad too since u ware grinding with the idea that the exp events will stop...
