you rode on a sleeper cart … i just did this ride in coach and it was hell … do NOT attempt this long ride in coach .. i was sick for 2 weeks when i got home.. probably from the filthy stinky bathrooms .. and i couldnt sleep because some crazed chick was kicking the back of my sons chair ( she was thrown off the train) and people just talked all night
Trigger finger is very common with diabetics. I had and the Dr wanted to do surgery. But, I saw Barbara O'Neal on RU-vid and she said to do a Poultice of castor oil and grated fresh ginger. It worked. Thanks
I have same problems where I have to set my crochet down. I have done some research, take magnesium or use magnesium oil. Do some arm stretches in opposite positions of holding the crochet. Just discovered 'energy medicine' will take a while to know if it helps. Less sugar and processed foods in diet helps me some. I will never give up the crochet! I'm 71 yr old, been crocheting for years.
Thank you for the tip! I agree with you that magnesium is super-helpful and I've definitely noticed that eating less sugar helps lower the inflammation around my joints! I think crochet must be really good for training hand-eye coordination and it's also really helped me improve my ability to focus. I'm with you on never giving up!!
This was super interesting to listen to, especially as someone who _is_ 25. You talk about being an unrefined version of yourself, and boy do I feel it 😂😅 It's like being in the toddler stage of adulthood?? The rawest version of you in the best and worst ways, and everything is difficult because everything is new (again). I always assumed being middled aged is experientially better than being in your twenties because you're used to being a human being as you've done it for longer. I could be wrong 😅 Really appreciate hearing other people's life experiences and perspectives, especially people who are in a different stage of life than me (i'm also not an American). Loved the chatty crochet vlog and I laughed when you talked about dial up internet loading a graphic a line at a time. I knew that's what you were going to say as I've heard of that, but I've never actually seen it. I imagine younger gen z's wouldn't even know that was a thing!
Thank you so much!! 25 is an amazing age - sometimes I think that if I could pick any age to go back to it would be somewhere between 22 and 25. It definitely felt wild and unfettered, but everything was an adventure! Middle age is also more fun than I expected it to be. There's beauty and wonder at every stage of life!
The pieces I frogged in the beginning are mosaic crochet (a combination of single and double crochet), and what I ended up with was half double crochet and double crochet!
Hi, first of I am so glad this popped up on my feed because I am planning to quit my job in 2025. If you don't mind me asking a quick qn. How did you end up moving to Oxford successfully? I am based in Chicago and am interested to move to UK but not sure if I need a job in order to stay longer than a few months.
Congratulations on your imminent life change! I was able to move to Oxford because I hold dual nationality (UK & US). If you have a US passport, I think you can stay in the UK up to 6 months without a visa. There are some other countries in Europe that are easier to acquire longer-term visas for - I think Holland has a popular program that's not super-hard to participate in!
I love the "tinny" highpass sound! Adds to the vibe 😅 You're right about retro cassette players. I've been looking at Nickelodeon-branded ones. They're selling for well over $300!
I just watched the sweetest movie called Charing Cross Road. A true story of a bookstore there and a woman fron NY who corresponded with them for 20 years!
These people are lying! You are right! One has to work hard before one starts making decent money! Can I ask you a question? Do you get paid regularly?
I agree with you! I have some long term consulting clients who pay a fixed retainer every month, but most other project-based short-term projects take a while.
Hi! I use the "knife" hold - although I didn't know it was called the knife hold when I started crocheting a couple of years ago, I always thought of it as similar to the way I learned to hold a violin bow. I've tried the pencil hold, but it really slowed me down, but most of my friends who crochet use the pencil hold! So I guess it depends on the person!
@@DanicaLo Thanks for replying. I use the knife hold because that's how I knit - continental style. Do you still like these hooks, or have you moved on? I notice they have a shallow groove, like my Clover Soft Touch. 😊
I like these double-ended hooks for travel (because they take up less space), but I prefer them for yarn that's 4-weight and under! They're not super-great for heavier-weight yarns. Generally my favorite hooks are Tulip Etimo for lighter yarns and Loops & Threads aluminum hooks for heavier-weight yarns - there's something about Loops & Threads hooks being longer that is easier for me to handle with heavier weight yarns? Not sure if that's a popular opinion, though!
I used photo bucket back in 2006. Oh the myspace era, where tom was your first friend and there was a rumor about deleting him causing your profile and all your html work to disappear
thats great :-) what did i get for watching a bazillion hours of yt videos? hmmmmm ... :-) nothing, but hey there you go :-) great work, you could make it as a youtuber, you have really great voice btw
Great watch! Hope it like it so far. I've got a good collection going and Swatch is the only brand I wear that gets compliments almost every time I wear one.
This stitch was by far one of the hardest ones I've learned! I had to start and frog 5 different projects before I felt like I got it right. Keep trying, you can do it!
Omg ok, I has been staring at my cloud cake, watching RU-vid and trying to figure out what to make because I ALSO wanted a wearable. I decided to go even more basic and make a simple light weight pullover in double crochet with a J . It's working up nicely. You earned a like and follow!❤
