We’re John and Anna - An average family on an adventure of a lifetime with our two little girls - Alex and Hailey!
Back in 2020 we realized we had fallen into the standard - career, big house, suburban life and Covid helped us realize we needed a change. This wasn't what we had dreamed of growing up, or even when we got married. So I gave up my career, we sold our house, and left the suburbs for adventure with our two little girls and two wild dogs.As I followed my dreams starting RU-vid John wanted to go back into the military. John served with the Marines when we first were married back in 2009. This time he enlisted into the Army and we are currently stationed in Hawaii. The adventure continues. Raising our girls on the island we are pursuing our dreams: learning to surf, paddleboard, snorkel, dirt bike, hike and hopefully also inspiring you to pursuit your... something!
The only thing guarenteed in this life is the pursuit!
Happy adventures!
Sincerely, Wiggy Family

Before Hawaii I also used a trike in Colorado. My dad's friend Ken remembers this because he would see me on my trike sometimes when I was little he told when he saw me in Maryland some years ago to see my Dad again for work related to my Dad's job.

This summer in 2024 I have been to more pools. I have been to MacGill Commons and Locus park pool and Dickson pool and Hopewell and Hawthorne pool and Stevens Forest pool and Huntington Pool. What was nice about the Huntington pool is that they had special hours in the evening for Adults only from 7-10 on Saturday nights and their hot tub was steaming hot. As well as Clemens Crossings pool.

I live in Mililani and have a lot of interaction with soldiers, sailors, airmen and their families. What I’ve found is that people either love it here or hate it here. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of middle ground. My in-laws left the Army actually left the Army before retiring because they didn’t want to PCS when it came time. One of the Scoutmasters from my son’s Boy Scout troop moved back here after retiring. On the other hand, my daughter’s best friend’s family enjoyed a lot of things here but couldn’t wait to PCS.

Bravo! Thanks for sharing. Looks like you are having no problems dealing with the rock fever that some experience living in Hawaii. You guys seem to be enjoying Island/Army life? By the way, good job on doing things professionally with your channel. You have a great talent or gift if you prefer? Blessings from North Carolina.

I've had the "experience ". Unfortunately some would say, I lived there at Schofield Barracks, in "the" world war two Barracks. We called it "Rock Fever". It was from 1991 to 1995. Great job with your video. I enjoyed it.

Raised a military brat and married into it. I get it. But I experienced it more when I was raised into it. I was blessed as my husband didn't have too many TDYs but I've had many friends and family over the years deal with it with their spouses. Thanks for the story. A few tears rolled down my face listening. I'd love to hear your guys story. Hopefully you remember.

Don't forget Waminae valley if your in a wheelchair there's a big golf cart that takes you to the top unfortunately they won't take your wheelchair so then you can't get out and theybstay for 5 seconds and you see jack crap. That's what they did to my dad because my husband walked his wheel chair up and by the time he got to the top the ride took my dad and me and mom back down. There was no where comfortable to sit and wait. The island is NOT ADA compliant . It was so hard on my dad. But next time I can go and hike it up. It's not a difficult hike. It's easy and k I'd friendly

The day we left Hawaii we lost my dad. We only left so he could get care. It was too expensive in Hawaii so we sent him abdbmy mom 2 days ahead of us so we could spend our anniversary in Hawaii then we woke up to ge ton our plane to go back to the mainland and got a call my dad passed. I hoping I get to come back to Hawaii and do it over again because like I've said we missed out a lot between taking care of my dad with dementia and thr covid restrictions. So it will be 3 yrs this December I lost him. At leat I got to spend 1 last year in Hawaii with him everyday and made sure he was taken care of. The VA paid me to take care of him even though it was full time. It was exhausting but no regrets

Thank you for sharing your story. Anyone who has lived the military life can make a life anywhere. My husband spent 33 years in the Army and I have no regrets. We lived through no-pay-due, lousy housing, lots of cockroaches, frozen and broken water pipes. I get it, it’s not an easy life. We lived all over, Tacoma, Wa, Ft. Campbell, KY, Schweinfurt, Germany, three years in Hawaii. Three years in Germany, that was tough. No pay due and lousy exchange rate. We had friends living on the economy who couldn’t pay rent or buy groceries because of the exchange rate. The unit collected funds to help those soldiers and their families. And trying to raise four kids on a Specialist’s pay? We had food stamps for a while. Four kids and countless moves later I look back and miss that life. I miss the friendships and moving around. But, man, the memories! It was amazing!

In 2021 they wouldnt let my dying dad into the Us Arizona. Because he was diabetic and no bags but i had to have his insulin on for ER. It wad a small diabetic bag and they said no then they gave us attitude andbthen found out it was canceled and didnt refund our money. My dad never got to go and he died the day we left. This time im gonna get to enjoy hawaii with no restrictions and not being someones caregiver. I was so busy with VA apts with him i rarely saw a lot but i still enjoyed it. The Luas were closed at that time.

I subscribed bc I just LOVE your family & all your adventures! I used to vlog, and watching your videos makes me want to get back into it so badly! I just love having the memories to look back on. The kids love seeing old videos, too ❤️ Pertaining to your PCS, was your stay (not including parking because that’s its own beast lol) at the Hilton Hawaiian Village fully covered by TLA? Thanks, sis!
@theWiggyFamily
@theWiggyFamily 2 месяца назад
@@JessicaHolmes thank you so much! Yes the stay at the Hilton was covered! We called and informed them we were PCSing and they gave us a special rate. They told us to just have our orders on us when checking in. We took the receipt to finance when it was time to get tla reimbursed. As long as the amount was under the tla amount and under the cost of the inn at Schofield then they will reimburse you the full amount. You should get back into it! Hawaii is definitely the place you want to remember years from now!

@@theWiggyFamily thank you so much for that info! I had called the Sheraton Waikiki (my husband played football for UH so he has his sentimental attachments to the Sheraton lol), and according to what concierge said, we would have to pay $27 OOP per night… 🙃 Which isn’t bad depending on how long you’re there, but I was wondering if maybe because HHV is a “resort” that TLA wouldn’t cover it entirely. But yes, I will definitely be giving them a call soon! When I was really into vlogging it was mostly in Hawai’i when my oldest were little, little 🥹
@theWiggyFamily
@theWiggyFamily 2 месяца назад
That’s so sweet! I hope you get back into it! For the Sheraton just make sure it’s on the list of TLA approved hotels for the army. You should be able to find a list online.
