I feel like BET was pretty heavily dubbed. Like her tone on the C5 in vol is way more rough- so even if she sang live I don’t think the sustained note would’ve sounded like that. I think for it’s like that she probably lipped in the normal places, but it sounds different because she dubbed it with another recording or something. I totally agree with singing behind the track in GMA 2005- probably the best shape her voice was in during TEOM.
Given the VOL performance from the same show, she seemed to be having a really good vocal day and was feeling herself. I’m also inclined to believe she did multiple takes for that show, so maybe she felt more comfortable going for it then.
If you pay attention, Beyonces mic has special echo effect, whereas Adele’s doesn’t, it’s purely her voice. Adele wins this one. Beyoncé fans are just die hard and stubborn.
Ariana Grande Vocal Analysis (2024) Voice type: Light-Lyric Soprano Vocal range: C3-B5-E7 (4 octaves and 2 notes) Range with the most consistent quality, comfort, and technique: G3-C#5/D5-G#5/A5 At best: F3-F5-C6 Lower register: (7/10) Low notes are bright and clear and have a good projection up to G3 consistently and F3 at best. Quite surprising for someone with a high tessitura considering her high sitting voice. However, she loses consistency, projection, and becomes airy and weak F3 and below. Mid-belts and mix: (7.5/10) Mid belts are surprisingly strong for someone who frequently utilizes a heady mix in her belts. Her approach in her mid-belts during her later years (2019 - ) is more balanced compared to her honeymoon era (2014-early 2016) where her approach is more heady and dangerous woman era (late 2016-2017) where her approach is chestier. She has good control over her mid-belts and it is more balanced, consistent, accessible, and more tensionless than people assume resulting in an open, free, well-projected, and controlled sound consistently especially from G#4-D5. Upper-belts/mix: (7/10) As a soprano like her, her ease and control in this area are good. She may not be the very best and the pinnacle of upper-belting out there, as some of her diehard fans tend to believe, but her consistency and stamina in this area is no joke. Although not consistently, she produces the best and balanced quality from Eb5-F5. As she goes higher beyond F5, she tends to sound thinner but still often avoids straining and too much tension up to G#5 (her signature upper-belting/mix note). However, she loses consistency when she reaches A5 and above which can sometimes be prone to tension, although this doesn't happen much as she was still able to possess a decent quality up to Bb5 especially in her be my baby and breathin performances most of the time. This ease and consistency in her upper-belting range is due to her heady approach with her mix and mixed-belts. Nowadays, she utilizes a more balanced approach (balanced head and chest mix) to her upper-belts/mix especially in her thank u, next and yours truly era. This balanced approach is evidently showcased especially in her sweetener tour and 2023 yours truly 10 year anniversary live performance where she produced a decent but balanced mix. Upper-register (head voice and falsetto): (7.5/10) Contrary to popular belief, Ariana utilzes her head voice just as much as she utilizes her falsetto. Her falsetto is probably one of the best that pop music has to offer. It is polished, smooth, controlled, and easily accessible. On the other hand, her head voice is also good and is consistently well-coordinated and connected up to A5. Performances such as moonlight, thinkin bout you, be alright, get well soon, and many more including song covers such as no one mourns the wicked and I wanna dance with somebody showcases her control and consistency in her head voice. She may not possess the best and most developed head voice in the music industry, but she can still keep up. Her head voice possesses a bright, strong, and roundness quality consistently up to F#5 and sometimes up to A5. However, her head voice can sometimes sound airy which limits her true potential. Further analysis with her head voice after the wicked (2024) movie will come out with her role as Glinda the good witch. Vocal Agility: (7.5/10) This may be the vocal skill she possess that has consistently improved over the years. She may not be as good as the best riffers out there like Mariah Carey, Tori Kelly, Beyonce, JoJo, and many others, but her vocal agility is definitely above average and is an integral part of her singing style. She can consistently execute vocal riffs and runs that are precise, fast, and complex with good creativity and musicality. The only downside is that there are few performances where she sounds pitchy and unstable and her vocal runs are sometimes repetitive. Lastly, during her early years, she tends to move her jaw a lot and fortunately, she got rid of that habit almost entirely. Whistle register: (9.5/10) One of the best whistle register user in her generation. Able to control her whistle with ease and is also able to create vocal runs and vocal phrases with it. Vocal Dynamics: (6.5/10) She has showcased vocal dynamics from time to time where she sang from pianissimo up to fortissimo. This is greatly showcased in her 2023 yours truly 10 year anniversary live performance. However, there are very rare cases of her showcasing crescendo and decresendo. Vibrato: (10/10) Her vibrato is one of the most controlled and well-developed that pop music has to offer. It can range from soft/subtle to aggressive/intense and can even shift to it smoothly. This great vibrato is also evident throughout all her register especially in her belts and upper-register. Vocal transition: (9/10) Able to easily and smoothly transition between registers from chest to head to whistle and with great control. Pitch: (8/10) Her wide vocal range allows her to hit high notes and low notes with good pitch accuracy. She rarely gets off-key and goes sharp/flat. Note: this analysis is based on an educated opinion and knowledge about vocals and music. Hence, this analysis is based on what I hear from the vocalist's live performances throughout the years. So feel free to politely disagree. Overall: 79.5/100 Overall comment: She is not as bad as critics say she is and also not as great as diehard fans made her out to be. Her development is distributed fairly evenly throughout range with her mid-belts and upper-register being currently the most developed register. Her major weakness may be that she tends to sing beyond her range with the most consistent quality, comfort, and technique. Fortunately, notes beyond her consistency are rarely strained, tensed, or weak. Lastly, her biggest asset may be her whistle register, musicality/creativity, vocal transition, and vibrato.
what did you think of her G5 in fine from this performance? is it enough to be supported? I actually think she might soon have F#5/G5 consistently but I guess we’ll have to wait and see. I thought she was gonna get F#3/G3 but she seems only consistent enough with F#3 in studio. She is pretty consistent now with G3-D5-F#5/G5? the G5 might be too generous but it does seem to be improving imo
She is mostly consistent with F#3 if you listem to all the preformances in her tour. A flat F#3 here and there doesn't mean she isn't consistent, it's like when in rare cases she can have a tense C5, over all she supports F#3. As for the Fine preformance, did you mean the B5 maybe and not G5? Cause Fine has no G5 😊. Taeyeon support in her hd goes up to G#5 as for now. She had a gorgeous B5 in Hong Kong and I think it was supported, but overall I need to hear official audio cause all those fancams have horrible audio lol.
Vocally speaking, Beyonce is better with better techniques. But as a singer, Adele is definitely better. Her composition is better than Beyonce with songs written by couple pf songwriters. I guess the reason why Adele is considered great is not because she has impeccable technique. But because she have flaws and it sounds human. Beyonce, with better technique, sounds robotic at times. There's no emotion in there. It's like she really wants to display her vocal skills than to sing with emotions. I still love Beyonce as a performer though. No one can top her!
@@tunO8 what.... i was clearing out my social tab in my email, and since this is connected to my email, i happened to see it. also, not only was this a hobby, but i don't even upload anymore, so i don't understand the presumption that a lack of prosperity would somehow be a sensitive point. you are very very strange.
I don't think she could. well she prob could but im not sure if she could hit all the transitions, runs, high and low notes perfectly or at least as good as mariah. im saying this cause well i have just never seen ehr sing any song nearly as hard and complex as this. she also has to deal with all that breath control and constant resonance on those mid belts like this song is HARD.
I can't count the number of times I've seen comments from people who have attended these concerts saying that fancams don't do any justice to her voice. I defs need to experience this live
I hope you get to see her perform live someday. It really is a beautiful experience. Her voice is even 10x better live. I still remember how her pretty voice echoes within the concert halls🥺 she's an exceptional performer as well.
Have you heard the B5 headvoice on the Fine performances? I went through all the Fine performances and she sounds much more grounded on them than when she attempted it at 2018
Is it just me or does she sound a bit tired/ maybe just a bit out of practice since it’s been 3 years since her last concert 😅 but always appreciate her hard work and for slaying with live vocals.
it's been a longg time since she's toured, and even in the few live performances she's done over the past few years, she was belting in like less than half of them. i think she just needs some time to get back into the groove of things.
@@saltedpeanut4098 she seems a bit rusty, which is fair since she's sort of out of practice. the 2nd seoul show was the best so far; the timeless c5s were very good (although the one at the end of the bridge started a bit flat), and drawing our moments was surprisingly nice, particularly the big eb5. nothing super new, but i guess the "new normal" for taeyeon (eb5s and g5s are usually pretty solid).
@@taeydream thanks! i was wondering if u were gonna make a vocal analysis vid on her based on her latest vocal performances? im asking u this because it seems like youre the only active taeyeon vocal channel😭😭
@@saltedpeanut4098 i considered it, but i've been a bit busy these days! i'm currently a law student and in the middle of my summer internship, but i might do a compilation at the end of the tour!
Beyoncé has a better tone and vibrato and has supported notes but Mariah has more agility they’re both great singers I just can’t choose between both of them. I love them both. I looked up to both of them.
I like Mariah and she has an iconic voice but if I’m being 100% honest the Mariah of today cannot touch the Beyoncé of today vocally. Beyoncé’s vocal control alone wins with ease. Beyoncé’s voice has been trained. She has an impressive range, versatility, proper pronunciation/diction, vocal control, and excellent technique. The things Beyoncé can do with her voice is unreal. As great as Beyoncé is, Matthew deserves a great deal of credit for it. Beyoncé has down a excellent job maintaining it but Matthew provided her with the tools and made sure she understood discipline. For heaven’s sake he had destiny’s child on treadmills in heels while singing to understand and master vocal control. She earned her strips and place in the music industry! Gotta respect it. 👑💯
I love Adele but if I’m being 100% honest a candle is out of reach. Lol she cannot hold a 4th of July sparkler to Beyoncé musically or vocally. Beyoncé’s vocal control alone wins with ease. Mariah's voice is so power but she's very feminine in her delivery, like the notes just radiate off her, while Beyonce's approach to those big notes is very aggressive, like missile fire aggressive LOL 🦋🐝🔥
It's overall same as before, above Wendy and below Eunji in the proficient tier. Her 5th octave is less heavily coordinated and more bright which helps with easing up the tension above D5. On the flipside, she doesn't really go for more open vowels in the midbelts these days, and her lightening means that her Bb4-C5 area isn't as full as it used to be. But the support quality itself is as strong as ever was in G3-D5, and she's not struggling as much above it. If I had to summarize it, I'd say she traded power for range, to put it very crudely.
@@eddyjacx5622 not you again lol. All 3 ranges of Taeyeon are more developed than Eunji's, both in support and resonance. Her connection between lower range to mid and mid to upper range is way ahead, as well as agility, and intonation. Also if you want to talk openess, Taeyeon takes the cake in that too, however it's depends on the song cause she usually go for a more open and fuller notes in songs like Into the Uknown, Fire or Gravity in comparison to INVU or Priority which are a lot brighter, but we have to wait for a concert too. I won't be surprised if you one of the ppl that post those stupid KVA charts on twitter based on 2015 abilities or support range alone. Should we even open the support discussion again? Cause her F#3s and Eb5s are supported 🥱.
@@timorcohen4641 You're the one stuck in 2015, Eunji has seen some improvement in her consistency over the past several years and is a lot more reliable in the F3-Eb5 range in general lol. Tae only beats her in head voice. In terms of lows, Eunji has a much better output and coordination down to F3/F#3; Tae is inconsistent below G3 and even then her actual projection and coordination aren't as good. Tae's best belts might have been rounded than Eunji's but Eunji is more consistent with openness and has a more secure chest engagement throughout her mix. Current Taeyeon doesn't have any consistent resonance to speak of, her mix these days is lighter and less solid than Eunji's. Also...intonation? Not doing you any favors considering Eunji has always been a way more reliable live singer. KVA had Taeyeon ranked above Eunji in 2015. That's not really accurate anymore.
@@BTRnoaBTR I'd say the Goddess Mode C#5 probably carried some resonance, and I recall a few good C5s in the INVU album. So it's not like she *can't* do it, she just rarely ever does. There were a few live attempts this year, but they didn't work out.
