I LOVED Taeyeon's chesty approach but it really wasn't great for longevity. She has so much more ease now in those upper belts even though she is still quite chesty in comparison to other idols. I don't know why but in those 2021 clips where she's doing those upper belts I literally get teary eyed. Theres something so piercing about those notes. It has such an emotional quality. Ugh love her
it definitely sounded a lot more impressive to listen to (i remember being shocked when i first heard her sing back then because of how womanly her voice sounded for being so young and in a pop girl group), but yeah, i definitely love the versatility and range her newer approach provides her with. her recent upper belts sound REALLY good, like she's finally showing the world she's a SOPRANO lollll
omg yes! i wanted to do more same song comparisons, and can you hear me was a big candidate, but i hate the c#5 in most performances of that, so i just held off lol. and i sometimes miss her chestier approach because it sounded stronger in the low belts, but i also appreciate that she shifted her approach to something healthier, more sustainable, and overall better.
lüv this. thank youuu, fellow taeganger ☺️ p.s. taeyeon used to be too chesty in her belts (that's why they sound quite pushed and powerful, but still resonant-the mid-belts). she sounds bright/quite nassl now but the sound is more relaxed, open, and dynamics are more apparent)
@@taeydream well there's some rising rookies outside sm like nayul and yeachan .... i also did a female vocal ranking if you wanna check it on my channel
@@BAZVOCALS oh sick i'll check it out! it's also annoying bc new gen kpop stans are literally insane, so it's impossible to even talk about vocals without getting hundreds of people cursing you out
