To use the AI selection, choose the image layer you want to apply AI to by clicking on it. If you have adjustment layers, AI will be grayed out because AI must be applied to an image layer; upon clicking the image layer of your choice, the AI buttons will be enabled and AI will use that layer to create the mask.
What I have particularly missed about ACD for years is the ability to post photos to social media like X, Facebook Instagram, etc. with just a few clicks of the mouse.
Got the imported files in, but after spending hours, today, I can't for the life of me, find how to display the metadata rolldown. Maybe that's why I just went back to Photoshop years ago and use ACDSEE to read the raw files that PS CS6, the last version that was an infinite license.
On Windows version: If you are in Manage and click on a photo then look at the bottom right hand corner you should see: Metadata, Organize, and File tabs. Click Metadata and that will bring up the option to see IPTC/EXIF/ACDSee Metadata. There may be other ways, but this seems to be the fastest to me?
Looks like this could replace Photo Mechanic for me - question: @ 04:53 you mention AI Keywords. Are those embedded into the XMP/Metadata or are they strictly found in ACDSee? Follow up...do you need an Internet connection for AI Keywords to work?
They are strictly found in ACDSee but you can easily add them to the Metadata of the file itself. Also you don't need an internet connection for AI Keywords.
On the photo of the road that you did the sky replacement on, wouldn't it have been easier to adjust the yellow on the stripes on the road by using the brush mask to select them and then adjust using Color EQ? Since you're just adjusting the yellow, you wouldn't have to be all that careful about selecting the stripes. It just seems a lot easier than selecting by color like you did.
This is a terrible program. Buggy and slow to the point it's basically unusable now. Won't even generate all the thumbnails in a folder it had previously generated. Now I'm getting error messages and can't create new keywords. I only wanted it for the library function after I left Lightroom but it's awkward and limiting. By the look of it the Windows version is more powerful but the Mac version is, well, horrible. And almost every update, when they do introduce them, are paid. So much for avoiding the LR subscription. i'll see if I can export the keywords to the IPTC file (it seems to be hit and miss) and then I'm back to LR. I left Adobe when they went to subscription but my old copy of LR6 still works just fine, but of course doesn't have the several years of improvements since. My recommendations: Stay away from ACDSee, at least for a Mac.
I used ACDSee for years but never tried the more sophisticated editing tools. Thanks to these videos, I'm learning a lot and having a lot of fun practicing on old photos that could use a bit more drama. I'm liking the results I'm getting. Enjoying ACDSee 2025 very much. A big thank you to ACDSee for taking the time to put together these helpful videos.
This is great. I have tons of iPhone photos. If there a link you could share on the best way to edit iPhone / Live Photos. I assume it would include converting to Still photos, importing somehow and editing. Ty this is great 👍
Rodrigo said that ACDSee is the only editor capable of upscaling on image more than 2x. That is not true. Both On1 Photo RAW and Luminar Neo can do 6x.
I don't use ACDSee as a Photoshop alternative but for managing and basic editing for thousands of pictures yearly. Waiting for basic improvements of existing functions over 5 new/updated functions every year. Face recognition now usable after 5 years or so after release?
Waiting for years for some improvements in overall usability so skipping several years of releases. ACDSee focuses and few new functions and ignores usability. Have requested many times and many bugs persists for 3, 5, 10 years...
Any other Improvements fixing so many glitches and bugs dragging over the years in ACDSee? Speed Improvements needed for opening Pics in Developmode, Repair Brushes, Batch processing, Thumbnail generation and Watermark Quality. As well as better keyboard commands for editing like direct access to Cropping, copy/pasting improvements needed. Thanks.
It supports Watermarks but the handling and the quality is awful. many bugs in that dialog box and rendering quality of watermarks is not great. Not been fixed in 20 years.
AI Super-Resolution is cutting-edge technology, and it demands equally high-performance hardware to run efficiently. If you're experiencing long processing times, it may be worth re-evaluating your hardware setup.
on my computer with i9 it takes me nearly no time with 64 gb ram and a 12 gb graphics card. I think it is 30 seconds or less. How many percentage do you increse the photo to?
A photographer who publishes on the internet usually wants to reduce the size of his photos and add a logo. PhotoScape X does this very well. The BATCH process in ASDsee has unfortunately not been improved. How simple can it be to make an output of ... pixels wide and a logo in the bottom corner of ... pixels wide? I would like to finally tackle this in the future.
Indeed, Batch processing not improved really over 20 years. Very slow, terrible controls over watermarks and resizing, bad quality in rendering watermarks. CnViewXP is extremely fast and good in that.
I wonder why a picture that is enhanced is autotomatically added to the filmstrip in the bottom. you have to exit the photo and go back to see the enhanced picture in the filmstrip.
Good walkthrough. I hope ACDSEE 2026 also will do something to the map. Like being able to see all the photos ever taken on the world map. Also I wonder why it did not improve the AI keywords from 2024. and even improved face detection.
@@ACDSeePhotoStudio just played with maps in 2025 and looked at a previous map workshop, and it looks like it is more difficult to work with maps in 2025. So I had to use geosetter softwarae to set geodata. Why isn't it possible to have map while looking at an image. Map option is no where to be found.
Yeah. Masking is very basic "AI" if it can be called AI at all. Waiting for AI to expand pictures, remove objects and overall speed improvements, ACDSee is so slow. Working for 20 years with it now. Love and hate.
The only thing "Super" about this is that you need a VERY FAST computer to process even a small (e.g., 1920 x 1080) image with Super Resolution, otherwise you can take a nap while ACDSee 2025 processes the image. Another marketing ploy?
AI upscaling is demanding, and without a capable GPU, the process will rely on the CPU, which can be much slower. ACDSee will automatically use your GPU if available, dramatically speeding up Super-Resolution. If it feels slow, it’s likely due to an older or less powerful setup.
Noone said it was fast, so why are you calling that marketing ploy? That is a strawman from your end to an issue that you made up yourself. It is indeed slow, but thats in the nature of the thing. It is really demanding and I am not aware of solutions from other companies that do it in a fast way. And again NOONE said it is fast.
While you can’t move a mask directly, you can expand or contract the edges, add feathering, and further refine it using the brush tool-without needing to delete and reapply the mask.
The Masking Group in Develop Mode has been redesigned for better access to all masking tools. While Color and Luminance Masking remain the same, they’re now part of a unified panel alongside new AI tools, improving workflow efficiency.
In 2023 and 2024 face detection going time after time by all folders even after completed recognition. So i turned it off =( Do you know how to fix it? Maybe some changes in dbf-tables to technically 'complete' recognition?
It sounds like the face detection process might not be marking the recognition as complete in the database, causing it to run again. Unfortunately, there's no manual way to modify the DBF tables to 'complete' recognition. A possible fix would be to run a database maintenance session (Tools > Database > Optimize Database) or rebuild the database entirely. If that doesn’t help, I recommend reaching out to our support team for further assistance. www.acdsee.com/en/support/
They still didn't make it useful? lol. They like to present great sounding functions but it will take years until they actually work properly. if at all. Best solution: Other software.
They definitely need to add to the videos about the 2025 how to migrate your database to the new software. I had to go back and watch an old video about the database to get that information. I was able to resolve the issue of migration of the database from 2024 to 2025, but it should be easier to find that information to make for a smoother transition.
ACDSee is a great software. I already bought the 2025 version and made my own import preset and watermark. Now I can batch edit and use preset on all images at once. so easy and intuitive. Congrats to all envolved!
@@ACDSeePhotoStudioAdam..unsure what to pause..it appears that I have 56 background processes going. All I see when I open 2025 is the blank acdsee initial format sheet with hourglass going but still doesn't bring up photo's.
Acdsee metadata including keywords, caption, title, notes etc can also be added in one click to IPTC using the customisable presets options near the top of metadata panel. By selecting all your photos and using the preset you can copy all your acdsee metadata to IPTC in one go...its very powerful.
@@ylamoon is background app still mandatory and cannot be quit or removed ? Any improvements in speed and user experience improvements like better keyboard commands or just "fancy" new options?
"In all my years, I never mastered [ACDSEE] layers..." Me neither, and I decided it was time to! I'd tried understanding masking in other programs, and somehow it never clicked. Practicing along with this tutorial made it all sink in. I look forward to other workshops. This was a great tutorial. Thanks so much!
