Hey Dannyx27, Firstly, great job on your attention to detail! The person symbol indicates that the bike is paired with the app. If you re-watch the video at the 40sec mark to the 50sec mark, you'll notice the person symbol is at the bottom of the IC7 computer screen whilst the pairing process is underway, then when it is paired the option to cancel the pairing comes up. Once you are in the cycling metrics screen (I.e. in a training session), the symbol moves to the top left next to 0.0 as you mentioned in your question. If you use the bike without pairing the app, that person symbol does not appear on the screen. I hope this helps!

Hey Brandon, It has been a while since using one of these bikes, but what I can say is that it has magnetic resistance with 'infinite incremental resistance changes' (per M3 page on Life Fitness website). I can't find the max watts data for the bike, but from personal experience, I have never come across a group fitness bike that has less resistance than I can push, whether that be magnetic or pressure resistance. So generally speaking, loading up enough to get a solid workout on commercial grade group fitness bikes is an essential goal of their design. I hope this helps! Nate

Some people on RU-vid say heavier perimeter weighted flywheels on most other bikes are smoother and better for circulation and injuries with less up/down motion for smoother pedaling. How would you compare the momentum of the lighter flywheel on the M3i with the much heavier flywheels on nearly every other bike? Is the pedaling motion just as smooth in spite of being lighter?

Great question! The answer is a personal one, based on what you need from it. So to avoid sitting on the fence, I will give you an answer based on my personal check list of features I look for and want. My current vote is for the IC7, even more so after the updates announced at IHRSA last week. I am a cyclist, indoors and outdoors. So a bike that my family can use for virtual cycles classes as well as seamlessly pair with 3rd party cycling specific apps and devices via bluetooth (such as ZWIFT), for me, is high on my list. The IC7 with Wattrate 2.0 (and above) pairs directly, without the need for a bridge such as the NPE Cable. Sadly the Technogym Group Cycle Connect bike requires the NPE Cable to convert the ANT+ signal to bluetooth. I have a video coming out soon (once I piece it together, showing this process). The IC7's coach by color is a great tool too, displaying your power in colored zones. This helps me know which zone I am in without looking at a number and doing math! The latest updates to the IC7 announced at last weeks IHRSA include left and right pedal stroke balance which I love, love, love!!! and really appreciated on the IC8. TechnoGym have this feature on the SKILLBIKE and RIDE, but not the Group Cycle Connect. The IC7 update also announced drop bars and gravel bars. I need further clarification on the gravel aspect, however drop bars are a massive plus for me to spend time in that position indoors. ICG's app (paid version) is pretty good now too, but on that front I still like TechnoGym's app as an overall product. Finally, if you are in the fortunate position to be able to choose between these bikes, I congratulate you! I admit, my personal features wish list goes beyond the standard's of what a traditional group cycling bike has been used for and designed for and TechnoGym have created other bikes to address my needs better ie SKILLBIKE, RIDE and even BIKE to some degree, where as ICG have thrown more features into the IC7 because they don't have the others at all. So I would be interested to know what you are looking for in a bike and why you chose to ask specifically about the IC7 and Group Cycle bike. Cheers Nate

Hey Life Growth, this is a TFT 2.0. But I have good news re: TFT 1.0. There is a ANT+ bridge called NPE CABLE (by North Pole Engineering), that will convert ANT+ signal to bluetooth. I used it on a IC8 with a TFT 1.0 just fine and I just used the same device to Zwift on a Technogym Group Cycle Connect Bike! I will be posting that video very soon and will try and get one with a TFT 1.0 too :)

Thanks for taking the time to offer feedback Graham! The IC7 has always been a prominent bike in cycling classes and is now a great choices for home gyms too, now that the updated Wattrate console has open bluetooth for those who like to Zwift etc. Very smooth, comfortable and most importantly quiet!

Hi HHazard10, thanks for the questions. I reached out to LF to understand a little more before replying. The short answer is that the ICG MYRIDE VX has been phased out and replaced by the smart phone ICG App that offers the rider fresher content that is updated over time. Most of the features are within the paid subscription option (check out the full details on the ICG website or within the app after download). That said, if you have an existing bike with a VX Personal attached, it will work with out logging in and can be used as is, until it breaks. As this is an optional extra to the ICG bikes, it can be removed, but I am lead to believe that it does run off its own independent power. This means it is has wire(s) to deal with. Best check how the unit is attached first before committing to buy (if this is a consideration) and/or reach out to Life Fitness support for advice. From a re-sale point of view, I am not sure on it's value given it has been phased out and replaced by a more agile smart phone app based solution.

Hi Champagne tjappie, thanks for the kind words. I can confirm that I did get the IC5 to work as well, however I don't have video proof :) I was in the middle of filming a IC5 Zwift video when my camera battery died. So the key to the IC5 is to: - pedal and wake up the console. - Ensure to choose 'Power Training' mode - enter details and make sure you proceed into a workout on the bikes console, i.e. see cycling data on the screen (speed, cadence, power, level etc). - then jump into your Zwift account and pair the sensors then start. This should work. I will return to LF and do a video soon!

Hey Steve, the specs sheet states; Bluetooth and ANT+ heart rate belts generally. I am not aware of an approved list of straps however I do know that the Myzone belt works (for example as I have tested that one :) I hope this helps!

Yes, to properly interact with the SKILLBIKE, you need to use the Mywellness App. This app is the primary app used by Technogym to connect with it's enabled fitness equipment. More importantly, the SKILLBIKE is a training tool that is more useful and engaging when the person using it is logged in. It also enables you to retain your workout data and share that data on platforms such as STRAVA, so long as you connect the Mywellness account and Strava account (via the app). - Once the Mywellness app is downloaded to your smartphone, create an account and log in to it via the app. - Once on the SKILLIBIKE, tap the screen to wake, - Then tap 'Log In at the top left of the SKILLBIKE's screen - open your Mywelllness app, and tap the bar code icon in the top right hand side of the screen. This will open a bar code scanner (you'll need to make sure you have allowed the app access to your camera). - Scan the bar code on the SKILLBIKE screen. - You should now be logged in and the app will be able to receive the data from your workout/fitness test etc. - If you want to pair a heart rate monitor, you need to press the heart icon in the top right hand corner of the SKILLBIKE's console. It is the icon in the middle of that 3 icon cluster (you'll need a compatible heart rate monitor that has bluetooth - Note Ant+ is another option, so long as the SKILLBIKE has the ANT+ receiver installed). I hope this helps. I am visiting Technogym in a few weeks and will create a how-to video for you and others who would like a few tips on the SKILLBIKE. Note I believe that ANT+ is another option, so long as the SKILLBIKE has the ANT+ receiver installed). To do this: - Attach your heart rate monitor to you. - Press the heart icon in the top right hand corner. It is the icon in the middle of that 3 icon cluster - Tap on your heart rate monitor to pair. Alternatively, if you want just want to check your heart rate during the session and generally overall in your active life, you can use an activity tracker or smart watch with heart rate monitoring capability. This solution however won't be able to display your heart rate on the SKILLBIKE's screen. I hope this helps. I will record a how-to video soon covering this process! Nate

Hey SirHyperMarc, I am sorry for the late reply! I just got off the phone with a LF rep who answered your question for me. Yes, there is a way for Netflix login details to be remembered and you hinted at the answer in your question. LF CONNECT - Get LF CONNECT app on your smart phone, create an account and login via the app - Next time you are on a LF treadmill, pair your LF CONNECT account on your smart phone to the treadmill (as per this video you've commented on). On that note, You can log into LF CONNECT two ways. Via the bar code on the console after pressing the 'Log in' button (on the right hand side of the home screen) OR via the NFC icon at the top right of the console's encasing (not on screen) . I personally like the bar code better because I can see it happening - I'm weird like that! - Once you haver logged in and the treadmill is now yours, you tap the Netflix icon, manually log in and then a pop-up window should appear. This pop-up will ask you if you would like LF CONNECT to remember your Netflix login details (or words to that effect). Confirm YES and that's it! Next time you log in to the treadmill via LF CONNECT, your Netflix credentials should initiate too and you'll be able to enjoy a show whilst smashing your fitness goals! Let me know how you go! Nate

Hi Kasper, I haven't had a chance to ride the Concept2 Bike yet. So I can't give you a comparison I am sorry. It is on my list to try though! Regarding HIIT type of classes, check out this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-N6-CCZtWwdA.html of Technogym's SKILLATHLETICA. You'll notice the SKILLBIKE is featured throughout the video (see 1:07 for example). So, yes, it appears that Technogym themselves use it for their own HIIT classes. I think it is worth reaching out to Technogym first to ask more questions. Personally, I think that the SKILLBIKE is really good for cycling enthusiasts wanting to improve elements of their cycling ability - this is its wheel house for sure! It also requires power (via a wall socket) to function and is best utilised when users are logged in. Like you, I am intrigued by the thought of using it for HIIT training with quick changes between equipment/exercises and definitely want to see how changes between users look during a session.
