Personally i would design it with a slightly larger display. Then make it so there is a single external switch/button for power, and swipe to choose dice, shake to roll. It could all fit within the footprint of the screen and look something like a diy ipod nano. Obv thicker and larger than a nano but i would imagine it still wouldnt be too bulky.
Very cool! I love your dedication. I'd like to see the same thing, but for real animals in real life! The advantages of playing pokedex with real animals is that they are more plentyful than Pokemon, and more varied, so you can play longer! In Pokemon there are 1025 species, which is A LOT. But on earth there is 8.7 million! Also they are more real, compared to Pokemon. That means you can see them with your eyes, as well as through the camera, and sometimes touch them. Another aspect is that the looking for them would be more of an adventure. You would need to know a bunch of stuff about eagles to be able to find one. Or you might need to explore a creepy basement to find the last spider on your list. The difficulty of finding rare poke.. animals is a bit higher, but I'm sure the effort will be a lot of fun 🌟
A short led me here and I'm glad it did. This guy is the perfect combo of smart and smartass. I love it and I'm going to try and make one out of an N64 controller because YES. Good stuff Sir.
