Hey mate, I’ve been using the FX6’s for the last 2 years and haven’t had any issues until recently actually, my Bcam’s Sdi port all of a sudden just stopped working. Unsure if it’s power related but a quick fix from Sony 👍🏻
Hey man, sorry just saw this. I think I just pulled them out, they didn’t break though so I’m sure there’d be a way to get them back in when you go to sell 👍🏻
You can operate the camera completely without the Sony monitor apart from touch autofocus. I mainly use manual focus lenses mostly anyway. Smallhd are releasing an update soon that will allow camera control apparantly.

I love your set up! Very compact and tidy :) I saw your other video were you put the Teradek 500 and a Rode product. Have you ever use a set up rig with the Small HD, the teradek 500 and maybe a tilta wireless follow focus motor? And have you ever had issues powering that through your wooden camera plate? I'm thinking about buying this camera and making a really practical set up for mostly narrative work. Was wondering if you ever used something like that. Hey there, cheers! I haven’t used the tilta system but consistently use the Smallhd paired with the Teradek and have never had an issue with them. The only downside with the FX6 is the single Sdi out so I use a freakshow Sdi splitter. Flick me a message on Instagram if you’d like me to send some pics of my current rig. Hey there, I looked it up and you can open it up by unscrewing a couple small screws but it exposes the electronics I’m pretty sure. I ended up just pulling them through, they didn’t break so if you ever want to sell the cam, you should be able to open it up and pop them back in 👍🏻
Wow that's a great result you got, I've never seen Ektachrome on super8 cross processed, look how it preserved the deep blacks, shifted everything slightly to greens and added some grain, great experiment! @@jackdonohoe

Thanks! It’s ‘278700’. You’d definitely be able to use both monitors but you’d most like mount the stock Sony monitor off the top plate against the handle. There’s plenty of images online showing where other people have mounted it :)
Would you say the "anchor" to the Topplate is a must? I want to mount my SmallHD Ultra 5 the same way / as a "viewfinder". But I already own the Tilta FX6 Cage. It's a quit heavy monitor though..
The Lenzlock mini quick release is not available in the US. Nor is the Arri 3/8″ Pin-Loc 15mm Spud. Can you suggest a comparable replacements in the US that works with the rest of the setup? Thank you .
Ahh really? There might be other companies that stock them in the states, I’m from Aus so unsure. I know Kondor Blue do one. I haven’t seen any other companies making the Arri 15mm spuds, sorry!

Hey there, thats a Bright Tangerine top handle brace, you will need their top plate and 8T Nato bracket for it to connect the two though 👍🏻 I chose the shortest length spud :)
Love the setup! How do you like the wooden camera v-mount plate? Is it really secure? I'm thinking about switching from the Tilta plate that mounts to the battery slot because I want to be able to hot swap and keep the stock battery in the camera.

I like it man, only issue I’ve had is previously I had it on my b-fx6 and after travelling with it quite a bit, one of the threads stripped itself from the case getting banged around and isn’t really fixable unless you send it back to Sony I guess. I swapped the plate to the other fx6 and now I put foam between the plate and body etc to brace it better for airline travel.
