I am a vlogger. I vlog almost every aspect of my life including most of my hobbies. This includes hunting, my saltwater reef tank, scuba diving , traveling, drone cinematography, and fireworks shows. This is not an all encompassing list but these are a few of the many things I enjoy doing.
🤷🏻♂️ looks like they got everything closed off. Which way is the water supposed to be flowing. Not from the area. Seems like they're making awesome progress . New pilings. New concert 👍🏻💪🏻
Jordan you are doing awesome job and this I believe is one of your callings and for that I thank you and explaining the details again Thank you very much
You're welcome am in Michigan up in the thumb of Huron county city of Bad Axe Michigan I think some of the fans are not dams the way it looks they have built
Nice video. If you look on Google Maps it shows that the road is supposed to be closed until Oct 30th. I doubt that is official, but it's probably in the ballpark for a completion date.
Thank you for the update, Jordan! I hope you guys are doing well up there. ...I take it Mini-J is hitting that magic two years, judging by your tired speech. 🤣❤👍
You again with your absolute BS numbers? You need a refresher. The construction phase of building the Mackinac Bridge proper lasted 3.6 years. But you have to add in another 2 years because the 4000' causeway on the northern end of the bridge (that the approach is built on) was constructed from 1939 to 1941. So 5.6 total years to complete construction. The construction phase on the current M-30 bridge started on March 4th, 2024. Construction is expected to be completed in late October 2024. That's 8 months from start to completion. That is the proper apples to apples comparison between the projects. You want to add in planning time to complete both bridges? (I know you don't because you only count it when it comes to the M-30 bridge.) Fine. There was talk in the Michigan Legislature as far back as 1888 about the need for a bridge at the straits, 66 years before construction began. In 1928, the governor commissioned a feasibility study for a bridge because the ferry system was inadequate and expensive. The first Mackinac Bridge Authority, tasked with exploring possible methods of constructing and funding the proposed bridge, was created in 1934, 18 years before construction began. That authority was hampered in its efforts to fund the bridge because there was a little thing called the Great Depression going on, and the outbreak of WWII stopped it completely. Still, they were able to finalize the route the bridge would take and build the causeway I mentioned earlier. A new Mackinac Bridge Authority (the one that we know today) was created in 1950 and engineers were hired for the final design in June of that year. As far as I can tell, the current M-30 bridge project planning did not begin until after the temporary bridge was opened to traffic in March 2021. Any way you slice it, the movement to build the Mackinac Bridge was a lot longer than it is for the M-30 Bridge.
I like to check in on your videos from time to time. My cousin has a house on Sanford Lake and lost a shed and kayaks in the damage. My dad has a hunting cabin in Edenville a few miles away. My dad also has coffee every morning with Mike Fisher (the General). I'm pretty sure that's his name. Met him a couple of times visiting my dad. Keep up the great informative work!
Thank you. Monday morning quarterback comment: Bridge piers(supports) under the deck look very thin in their construction. I would like much thicker structures under there.
Are the dams being rebuilt to protect the tax value of the lake front homes that supports the local government schools? The State of Michigan destroys a lot more dams than the build. So, what is the reason these are being rebuilt? They destroyed Shiatown, Davisburg, many others.
Fascinating. At 11:35 from the Drone...we see water is flowing down the steps. What is the purpose of all the other steps, which water is not flowing over? A lot of engineering and construction, and it looks impressive.
With Biden and Harris pushing for total electric vehicles, why is electric power generation being removed when demand will only increasing in the future?
It’s disgusting to see the powerhouse demolished and filled with concrete. What a waste! At least leave things for people to see. The generator and a naked room that used to be filled with cool stuff isn’t good enough.
Thanks for your videos Jordan. I spent my youth on the Secord Dam portion of the river. It's disgusting that the State of Michigan basically effed over the owner of the dams. The hard left Governor & AG caused the catastrophic failures by making him raise the water levels up to normal without giving him a chance to fix the dams.
A great video update about the dam work as always. It would be nice if you could do some more regular and consistent uploads on the dam`s and make the video`s a little bit longer as i do really enjoy watching your update`s on all the dam`s. Keep up the good work Jordan and i hope to see you again soon in your next video. 👍😃
Awesome update!! Excellent progress on the dam. Nice to see how the emergency spillway will work if every needed gain. Big improvement for sure!!! Stay Safe & God Bless!! 🤠👍
Just a little confused. It looks like they will not be brining the water up to previous levels. If that emergency spillway is as high as the water will ever be. Interesting.
