In this video we get a tour of the Forest Lake Dam. It is interesting to see how different this dam is than the Sanford, Edenville, Tobacco River, Smallwood and Secord dams. This dam sustained heavy damage during the May 2020 floods. This footage was filmed on July 14, 2022. This was after the collapse of the Edenville Dam on May 19, 2020.

Thank you for this video. My parents had a cabin in Forest Lake in the 70s. We have wonderful memories of spending every weekend there. It just so happens we went there yesterday with our cousin for the first time in many years. We were devastated and very curious to see the black tubes, the exposed docks and destroyed spillway. We were very curious and didn’t see anyone around to ask. Imagine my surprise when I found this video today. Thank you for asking and answering all our questions. Best of luck to all the homeowners at Forest Lake.

Jordan thank you for making this video and documenting the devastation from the May 20, 2020 storm. It would be great to have you out again when they start the work on the spillway. Maybe we could see the drone fly under the road and come out the other side. Keep up the good work you are doing.

A great video Jordan. I appreciate all of the information you shared about what happened, where they are now and the work that lies ahead. It will be interesting to follow how they remove the existing spillway, reroute the water, install the new spillway and let the water run its new course. A big thank you Jordan!

Really cool! I've had siphon tubes on my mind for several weeks as an idea for moving water past dams. Really neat to actually see them in use!

Essentially, all the damns were not properly looked after, upkept and definitely not up to code. The common denominator in all is privately owned. I suppose its easier to get funding when something fails v prior to it failing. At least this damn didn't fail and they acted quickly. Unfortunately damns like these exist in every state to include abandoned failing damns. Where is the mighty bearver when you need em. As always, great reporting.

Nice to see a different style of weir dam with stop logs. Glad to see it was not severely damaged. The spillway reminds me of a little Oroville CA. spillway with a lot less damage. Thanks for covering this one as well Jordan!

Great coverage Jordan. Wow I never heard how much rain the area got, 18 inches is a lot of rain. I am guessing this is the same rain that caused the big dam failure you have all the videos on.

Hopefully this doesn't bankrupt the homeowners as the cost is always much more than anticipated the original cost estimates for lake ororville was 500 million and the end cost was 2.5 billion
