My 60" Hyperdrive Vanguard 36 hp carbureted has been explosively backfiring on hot shutdown for the past year. Am changing plugs and noticed plug from right cylinder smells of gas. Left doesn't.

Everyone talks about how exciting and amazing this is but I have yet to see anyone on RU-vid plant a field of copper and iron, or zinc or aluminum or whatever suits their "Tesla" fancy to power anything but a LED bulb. Put it in valet mode by cycling the key on and off three times without hitting the starter. This will turn the alarm off until you take it out of valet mode, the three on-off thing.

I am thinking its possible valve adjustment is needed when you have an engine that backfires. Valve is opening a little when it shouldnt be, during shut down. Throttle setting should not matter.
