Welcome to JD's Garage where we'll show you some of our builds and how you can follow along without having to break the bank. So come join us on the next build.
I already bought the old version with the intention of building a larger model. I even bought an additional stepper motor and driver for it. I was about ready to 3d print the parts. I’ll skip buying this 2.0 version and look forward to buying the XL version. Any idea how long before the plans are ready for it?
Love what you guys are doing. I bought the Langmuir Crossfire just before they introduced their pro model and for the level/quantity of work I’m using it for, I would have gone for your setup all day long!
Not cool you guy's where not communicating about this when i bought the plans. i bought the plans not so long ago. Your "2.0" plan was not made from one day to another. You should have mentioned on your webshop, "2.0" was comming. instead of cashing 2 times...
What most folks seem to want to know is when will the XL plans be ready. And what will the cost be. I certainly understand and appreciate all the work, time and effort y'all have put into this project and the constant improvements. Thank you
If this is a new product will the XL version of the table you posted on your "shorts" be a new product to? I bought the original plans 2 months ago with the intention of making the table bigger but if your going to release plans for a larger table I'm not going to purchase the updated design for the small table and then turn around and purchase plans for the big table if it gets released. So I guess my question is will the large table be apart of the updated 2.0 plans or will it have its own plans?
For yall complaining about buying it again. Come on, let's be real. It's only 25 bucks, and it looks like he has attached videos and goes as far as a step by step on wire measurements and placement to make it easier. Its worth every dime.
This is a revision of the original plan and then an update, for all of those who supported this project from the beginning will find this unfair because they already paid for the plans. If you buy a cybertruck and the pedal gets stuck or there is an update to enhance the vehicle you get that update for free as part pf the package of buying the truck, is not like you bought a cybertruck and want a model X.. same thing should apply in here, if you paidd for the original project all updates within the projects should come with it and not charge the customer update after update that's what separate a person with integrity from a person that just looks to milk every cent possible from customers.
I bought the building instructions from you a few months ago and have already obtained all the parts for the electrical system, such as the Arduino uno. Will the plasma cutter still work well with the Arduino when it is finished? And is it time-consuming to convert to the new controller afterwards?
Looks like a great new machine. I bought plans 2 months ago and have just started cutting steel tube for the frame after collecting all of the parts from the previous bill of materials. Do I get free access to the new plans and will any of the steel parts change or am I safe cutting all tubing and plate steel parts?
Going through the old plans, it states 4 walls for the 3D prints with a .08 nozzle. Am I correct in assuming to do 8 walls for a .04 nozzle? The reason I ask is I have multiple printers and while I could certainly print with an .08 nozzle, I would print some of the smaller items on a smaller printer. Just trying to get clarification. Thanks for the great content.
Nope, I am in the same boat. They are saying the new plans are a new product, I call bullshit... Its the same damn machine with upgraded electronics. It would be like going to update your PC and being charged for the privilege. I own a lot of equipment and no one does it this way. I will not be paying for the update...
@@interstellarspacesolutions $25 bucks is a steal of a deal for the plans package. Even if one had to purchase the updated plans, think about the value you're getting! The updated controller, the itemized listing of all the pieces and parts in the control box, the added features in the control box, the updated troubleshooting G code, etc. These guys are doing a LOT of work for not much return... all of the hours to update and add links to the plans, the testing, etc. It's a HELL of a deal...
@@joncraw29 I am, but there are lots of free sources for plasma cutter plans. I bought these plans to support small business. That said we can agree to disagree but this is not a new product. Its a product update which I have never had to pay for. It is not the money, do not care about the money.
I understand the need to jump to a new plan. I recently bought the old plan and haven't built it yet. I don't mind dropping another 25 bucks for the new and improved plans. As noted by others, it's still dirt cheap for what you are getting. Having said that.......what if I buy the upgraded plans and next week JD's Garage publishes the plans for the new 4x8 table????? Will there be an upgrade price? Will that plan cost $25 also? I am guessing that will be a new product and I will again have no problem spending another 25 bucks. If the plans for the big table are more like 50 bucks, it would be nice to have an upgrade path for $25. Either way, *I'm in!*
So just wondering I have a 2001 Artic Cat 500 4x4 automatic quad. Would you know if the hubs will work with the Miata axles I know I need to figure out how to be able to use the rear dif as it"s shaft drive. its currently a basic case and was mostly pulled apart already
First, this is brilliant and I'm going to start this journey soon. Second, the only question I have is the type of filament you're using for the 3d printed parts? I can print PETG, but not sure if you're doing this in ABS or another UV resistant material. Cheers!
Hahaha the panning is funny as fuck, but seriously blokes your videos have been a wealth of knowledge and insight for me keep it up guys 💪🏽👌🏽 cheers from down under
Just built a 4x4 version of this too! Will have a video on it soon with custom drag chain setup... Just trying to source the water pan now. Might have to make it on my own. Best quote around here so far is over $500
PLEASE start a Forum!! Ive had my JDs Plasma cutter going for 6 months or so and its the coolest thing, but man it would be nice to talk with other builders. Thanks for all you have done!
