I really got lost at the end where you were showing how to use just the whole C major scale to solo and pick out the good sounding notes as the chords change. Two things here are especially difficult for at this point. 1. How the heck is that gobbledygook of notes recognizable as just the C major scale? 2. How does one find the "good sounding" notes out of all those quickly enough to keep up with changing chords? I couldn't find each root note of the chords in all those notes before the next chord came along!
@@willkirby5520 1.) those notes are the notes that comprise the underlying chords, which also happen to be found in the C major scale, since the chord progression is 100% in the key of C major. 2.) Lots of practice...It helps to think of this as a I - V - ii - vi progression, because then you only need to learn the "shapes" one time, for one single key.. then you can do it in all keys
The real problem, Brian, is the sexist guitar manufacturers not making guitars boob-friendly. They could easily design guitars that are more accommodating to boobs, incorporating them seamlessly into the instrument so they are barely noticeable. Of course they won't because they are a bunch of male pigs.
I am sure your video was meant to be sincere, but it sure gave me a giggle. I'll have to go look at some Dolly Parton guitar playing videos to see where she holds her guitar! And now I'll be thinking about this video every time I pick up my guitar to practice. 😂
Female guitar learner here. The fundamental problem, from my perspective, is that standard guitar shapes are rubbish! I'm really fed up with the boob squish situation; it hurts sometimes, more so with acoustics, obviously, and I just can't find a comfy place to put it! Generally speaking, I look at guitars and I wonder why the hell the shape of them hasn't changed in a gazillion years. Every year the big brands bring out 'new' guitars, but they're not new at all; they're essentially the same old samey sameness in different colours but still with the perennial problem of not being remotely ergonomic for the female body. The only guitar I've seen which looked like it probably wouldn't mash my boob up or necessitate me using the guitar as an awkward boob shelf while playing seated, was a Strandberg Boden Essential and it costs a grand. Haaaaa! It'll be a loooong time before I'm good enough to merit one of those! I could get a budget-end flying V shape, I suppose. I just don't like them much. Anyway, that's my boob rant.
Yeah maybe they can build a guitar with a hole at the top where you can put your tit while playing. But maybe the sound wouldn’t be as great as if you just let it hanging over naturally.
This should be your most watched video. There is so much guitar gold here. I would love to see a version that only covers layer 2 and rolls in the intervals. Thank you, this was a transformative tutorial.
Very appreciated. It took me ages to find a simple guide to setting up to record my first Reaper track & I wish I found this first as I was stuck for hours.
As a female guitar player (with boobs) I have this problem, recently I had to record myself for a guitar feedback video and when I watched back I was like omg I can’t send that as my boob was overhanging guitar, the only way around this was to add extra clothes as I was in t-shirt on very hot day, so had to put a waist coat over just to kinda cover where my boob over hangs, I don’t see the whole problem peeps have with boobs as there really is nowhere for it to go other than be more covered (which isn’t nice in the heat) I don’t think my guitar tutor would have judged me but for my own vanity I tried to hide it.
They said what their criticism was (doing it for attention) and you dismiss it all as "a bunch of hAtE". I doubt this woman was anywhere near as offended as you are. Lame.
Try to relax, bro, I feel you. But what you don’t understand is the general populous is about as intelligent as beeves and Butthead and they’re all trying to learn something is complicated as music theory…… This is the only thing they can grasp it’s going to keep them down, so that those that can understand music theory in its entirety will be allowed to shine. Try to be patient with reality and keep on keeping on. PS engineers are always the ones that advance Humanity. If there was more engineers in this world, Humanity would be much more advanced. Keep doing what you’re doing. Just try to be patient with the Idiocracy of the world.
These people that give women a hard time are losers who can’t play for sht anyway. Incels. They’re offended by boobs bcuz they can’t touch one. I started playing guitar because of my love for music and boobs. He’s gotta be talking about Larissa. Mimi always rocking that cleavage like a boss lol. Why shouldn’t she? Good for her. She’s a sweet girl, people bug her too in the comments. Mimi is a great young blues improviser who gets better all the time. Nothing but respect for her. But brian is probably talking about larissa. She could wear sweats and she’s still get a hard time for being beautiful. Because she’s like drop dead gorgeous. And super talented. She doesn’t seem to improvise a lot- but man larissa can fn shred. She plays all kinds of stuff note for note which is a skill in it’s own right. But men give her a hard time cuz never in their lives will they ever get to be in the same damn room with a woman that stunning and talented. Easy to see how she threatens them 😂 As a man the best thing I can suggest other men to do for these female guitarists is to compliment them on their playing and their hard work. Treat them like you’d treat a man (but with respect and kindness you dicks)Don’t hit on them or talk about their boobs. Tell them good job on the playing, tell them to keep up the good work. Treat them as equals because that’s what they fn are. Give a woman a compliment on their playing without saying “nice tits”. They just want somebody to tell them they sound good as much as we do. I swear Idk how women haven’t given up on males by now. What a bunch of assholes. Especially on the internet. Saying some stupid mean shit to somebody doesn’t make you feel good and it doesn’t make them feel good. No real musician is out to make people feel bad. It doesn’t cost anything to be kind. It doesn’t cost anything to be respectful. Call me a simp- just do it to my face, grab you a step stool
Sister Tharpe, Joni Mitchell, Raitt, Nancy Wilson, Orianthi, Jennifer Batten, the girls of Boy Genius - their Song "Satanist" Kicks Ass- this is just a few Im sure I left off 100's of more Boobs - these women are intelligent and can rock the house better than most guy bands- and you left off the idiots that talk about how nice the Boobs are instead of praising the great music some of these internet women play!!! Great Rant Brian this always bothered me to but I am sure it is the bruised Ego because they been playing for years and cant play as well!!!
As long as they don't hang low enough to mute the strings who cares... Maybe even then if it sounded as good as it does with palm muting you know it's all good!
Ha ha! I thought you meant boob, as in an idiot. I thought you were going to rag on guitar-challenged boob who was, I don't know, giving bad guitar playing information. Like you said, ain't nothing wrong with the kinda boobs you actually meant. Respect.
Nice rant, Brian. So many tossers in this world! She's a guitarist, thats it!! Maybe in a million years female guitar players will evolve int creatures with boobs on their backs.... 😅
