1:59 The text says Coleman Fuel (kerosene). Does that mean you are using a mixture of coleman fuel and kerosene? Coleman fuel is aka white gas. It’s essentially gasoline without the additives. Kerosene is more like diesel. Coleman fuel is flammable, kerosene is combustible. They are not the same fuel. I’m just trying to figure out what fuel is being used.
That is the authentic way to make it. even though i watch this video and re-watch it many times since a long time ... I am surprised no body left a comment. Glade to be the first in 10 years to post a gratitude comment for the lady who made it and for the person who upload it.
Colman fuel is not kerosene! It is "white" gas and a lot more dangerous. Kerosene might be used in a stove like this but I would thing it would runaway too. That's why they are called "Alcohol "stoves.
idea, use priming dish have copper tube coil come up out of alcohol in resivor with tubing opening close to the bottom of resivor. Then mount another copper tube in the center between the two copper tubing coil's and place a twist valve then a ribbon burner between the two copper tubing coil's with the ribbon burner being able to heat both copper coil's filled with steel wool that will vaporize the alcohol force the vapor back into resivor and build presure that you can then have the ribbon burner a tall orange flame or a bright blue flame by using the twist valve. Other idea was to use a frequency emitter placed inside the bottom of the alcohol resivor that caused the alcohol to vaporize and build presure and use a HHO 32 micro jet burner or a Jerusalem burner that super heated a thin Titanium cylinder heating element. I thought about getting a G stove wood stove and making one of these alternative way's to use the stove since the alcohol burn's so cleanly. You serm to know about alcohol stove's so i thought i would run this information by you and get your thought's? 😀👍
Idea, go onlinw and order an HHO 36 micro burner and put that on your alcohol stove. Try a paint can with one alcohol resivor with high heat carbon felt inside a copper tube with hole's drilled into it. Then another resivor that can hold some presure with a copper tube with steel wool threaded through it into the alcohol resivor with a copper pipe that run's up to a valve then to one of those HHO 36 jet micro burner's. Reset the burner so you can still put the lid onto the can. Make a grill top with nub's you can set down onto the paint can to hold a skillet or large pot. Make a craddle with fold out leg's you set the paint can down into has a sturdy base. 😀👍
ChefCrash1 : thanks for the reply I plan on building one soon, already built one that uses the wick system but next one will be like yours what did you use to seal the coil to the cap ? I used a silver solder to seal the first build .
Hi I made a few of those and the problem was that the copper pipe was too close to the top, so I lower the the coil deeper into the container and problem solve, hope this help
Hiya, great little hack, I have one of the vintage versions of these and they put a wick up through the coil, so you may want to try that as well. I would be a little worried about the thin aluminium fuel reservoir but thumbs up for building it!
so what your saying is....little achohol..just to the copper pipes...i have at least an inch away from bottom of jar because i used the wicks..now that they are out can i fill it to the copper pipes and if yes.....when burning do i let it completely burn all the fuel...???thank you for responding by the way i really appreciate it
The tubes must be below fuel level. No need to burn all the fuel, you can interrupt by blowing out the flame then release pressure, in that order. Never release pressure before you blow out the flame. Be safe!:)
sorry full of questions..how much alc do you put in this....enough that the pipes inside are submerged? and if so did you make little vapour holes??? cause i built one and it seems to be giving me a yellow flame...like a candle....not so good..please help:)
+v melo The tubes reach the very bottom of the tank. I always use very little fuel just in case;) I never used vapor holes because I don't understand the reasoning, if they are below fuel level then they serve no purpose, if they are above fuel level then what is the purpose of the tubes? I used a wick only once on this very stove and it didn't run (you can watch that video on my channel). If your stove is producing a flame like candle then you either have no pressure in you stove or the jet is to big. Let me know how it goes or better, post a video.
such a great design..love it... question..so no string in this one...did you make holes in the tubing to let the vapours escape or no??/ also..sorry i ask alot of questions..lol..um did you j and b welded the stand legs on?? ..thank you very much..genius build sir!!!
+kevin thompson It doesn't show on camera but I blew the flame off and quickly opened the top to release the pressure so it would not spew fuel and relight spontaneously.
