That is a very unpopular and creative build. Really enjoy seeing people trying cool builds, instead of just following the meta. For the T7 bosses I would recommend switching your gloves to some legendary with AS, crit and Aspect of Limitless rage for another +30ish [x] multi. It won't solve your problem but definitely cut your time with few minutes :) For the boss fight
I used Andy's Visage on my Frenzy build with 24 ranks to Frenzy. It was pretty good but still not the kind of damage that Bash and Whirlwind have. Frenzy needs a big buff!
With the third blade sword deathblow now uses fury and has no cooldown. No fury no deathblow. Ranks to invigorating fury is also needed that I don't show in the video fyi
I know this is weeks later, but I'm easily clearing tier 6 hordes with a level 85 barb with no glyphs in yet and far from optimized gear. Definitely go the strength/dot route. It's way better than what we've got here. I presume I'll be running 8s without much issue once everything is optimized (I would know, I've got 3 other builds this season that are doing tier 8 right now and it feels on that power level). That being said, just because it should be able to clear 8 doesn't mean it is S-tier. It does boss slower than S tier builds so I would probably say A at best but S for the fun.
Are your items masterworked? That's an important source of power that gets over looked. Other than that check the comments as ppl gave great explanations of how to optimize deathblow. Make sure you have ranks to invigorating fury!
@@barb_or_bust Hey! To some degree, but I'm trying to get the materials for masterwork in horde, but yeah getting slapped in t5. I didn't have this issue when I played WW or rupture. Have the invigo fury on also, not sure really, just still much lower and less tanky than other builds I put together. nevermind!
I like to share some thoughts about flay barb. I am a new player started in season5, chose barb saw this build and started to follow it. As in some guide it is mentioned to be S ranked. I am about 3/4 completing this build and saw the problem with this build it is too slow where it requires 3 steps to del. mobs. 1) Rupture. 2) stack bleed. 3) Rupture. most of the time, after i cast rupture, a sorc would have kill everything before i started with stacking bleed. While playing with other players/Duo-ing with a sorc i couldnt even land any hit. their orb just melt everything. Even on boss fight. other classes just fire with a button to do insane damage. Not to mention that i have to start with the 3 hit process. Im not sure how well WW barb do but i decided not to invest my time and started with a rogue and see how easy a rogue could out perform barb.
They really need to buff barb and necro man. I don't know if it's because your gears are not up to par, but this look weak as hell as compared to the likes of Sorc, rogue and druid. I thought you were doing Tier 8. Some of the other class did Tier 8 better than this. Really sad how they nerfed the barb to the ground, it's my second favourite class.
Agreed, the barb is so weak. As far as the necro though, blood surge and machine gun bone splinter absolutely shred tier 7's and even tier 8's. Bash does a decent job with 7 and 8 and whirlwind if built right can shred both as well.
I like Upheaval because the skill looks badass BUT, it's just too sloooooooooooow. Just watching this video feels dragging. I hope they can boost the atkspd of this skill.
Hey, I am playing barbarian right now and I am going for a thorns build but currently i am running a frenzy attack speed bleed build using shouts and steel grasp and leap. Currently it is making me feel kinda like the monk in d3 with the hundred fist as main damage dealer. So barbarian thorns build = crusader d3 but now i want a barbarian attack speed build that makes me think about the monk in d3. Any suggestions or can you cook up a possible build that might be fun to play?
Hmmmm I tried frenzy thorns and that was worse than frenzy with steel grasp. The D3 crusader thorns build was awesome! I've been messing around with thorns but haven't a build that works yet.
@@barb_or_bust i am running the stuff so that i am always berserking cause fury is at max, generating 100 creates 2 dust devils, burning rage, thorns for when you berserk, bleed for when you damage when you berserk, thorns for when you fortify wich you do with one of your shouts, the hectic on the boots, burning rage, iron blood, the chance to stun vunerable or bleeding enemes, skullbreaker for the extra damage
@@barb_or_bust I'm doing a 1 handed flay rupture and I am doing 350 million+ bleed ticks and rupturing for billions and I can melt the hoardes boss's, mind you I do have 4 mythicals, but before I had those my bleed ticks were around 200 million and was still rupturing for billions, I'm waiting on one of y'all RU-vidrs to try it and figure it out because you guys figure out stuff that I can't and once a perfected build is posted maybe it will be like 500 million+ bleed ticks?
The reason for using 1 handed weapons is at about 75-80% attack speed with one handed will pretty much cap you out on attack speed if your using shard of verithiel and the carnage legendary node, (I don't know about the hidden pool but the base attack speed pool raising at that point won't do anything), then you don't have to worry about greater affix attack speeds then you can focus greater affix Critical strike chance, meaning less demanding loot so it's easier to make the build
@@barb_or_bustIt just underperforms compared to almost anything else. Even Leapquake Rend build does higher DMG. Slow clear speed, bad DPS, and zero mobility. Build is just bad. Council at T7 does not have that much HP. I have never killed them as slow as this video.
I'm definitely intrigued in this build. How does it perform against any of the tormented bosses and Uber Lilith? I see that you said it's not optimal for bossing, does that only apply to Council or all bosses? Thanks for the vid and build!
Try this build: Go with rob's WW S5 Full ubers, then use Arreat's leggings and roll ultimate damage and CDR on it. That build melts everything in T7 horde, including the bosses way quicker than this build, the only build that kills bosses faster is the direct bash build even, but that one is way slower at clearing the adds. Seriously its crazy how to me, every build just looks worse and seems to take longer to kill even the bosses.
I find that combining A Rend And Thorns Build Does Exceptionally Well. Your Trash Mobs Will Never Be Na Issue. Neither would any other mob little lone boss's.
This is my favorite play style and wanted to see what it could do against the hordes and pit. Easily did 105 but the boss fight was super annoying with the debuff stacks!
Yes, both are needed to constantly rend bosses, if you don't have starless put resource gen tempers on your rings, this will be similar but may need to add couple of flays
I don’t seem to understand how the rupture explosion works. Does it just do a cool visual effect of blood explosion and do damage do a single entity or does it AOE damage and apply bleed to everyone ?
AOE damage, applies bleed to everyone hit, and if the enemy you ruptured was already bleeding, it deals that damage instantly and removes the bleeding effect. If using Fields of Crimson, then enemies in the blood pool take an additional 30% damage.
For everyone having Fury issues: Sorry if this is long but I've been doing the math for it. [Crown of Lucion] makes DB cost 200 Fury per cast. This not only gives you 100% Crit with [Ring of Red Furor], but [Banished Lord's Talisman] also makes every 2nd cast of DB an Overpower. So you need to be generating 200 Fury per cast. 7/3 [Invigorating Fury] is the breakpoint you want to hit because that puts you at 21% heal per 100 Fury and DB costs 200, so you're healing 42% per cast. The [Starlight Aspect] works every 20% healing increment (20/40/60/80), so at 42% healing per DB you're generating 80 Fury per DB before bonuses. This is solved by using a combination of Bonus Resource generation and Bonus Healing. A bonus 43% to [All Healing] stat makes you heal 60% HP per DB; This makes us generate 120 Fury per DB. You then need to hit 67% on your [Fury Generation] stat to get it up to 200 Fury per DB. But how do we get 67% [Fury Generation]? Well [Rallying Cry] gives you a flat +58% [Fury Generation], then [Yen's Blessing] boots also have Resource Generation, and you can also roll for Resource Generation on your ring temper. [Rallying Cry] lasts for 7.4sec with 3/3 [Booming Voice] and [Yen's Blessing] has an 8 second cooldown. To solve for this, I simply use a single bash during the 0.6 second downtime to get my fury back up to start spamming DB again. But you can also try getting bonus ranks to [Booming Voice] to make [Rallying Cry] last at least 8 seconds. If you can somehow manage to hit 67% [Fury Generation] without [Rallying Cry], that is when the build becomes truly unlimited DB spam. You can do this by stacking HoTA to 10 stacks for fury generation, but then you'd have to be hitting HoTA every 5 seconds to keep the stacks up. But you will have about a 50% uptime on the HoTA dmg buff. Personally I prefer to just hit a single [Bash] whenever [Rallying Cry] falls off and then get right back to spamming DB. All of this assumes you are at 7/3 (21%) [Invigorating Fury]. If SOMEHOW you are able to reach 10/3 [Invigorating Fury] then you'll be at 60% Life healed per DB without any bonuses to [All Healing]. A lot better, man! I’m also using the slaying aspect on the neck. 100% needed. Our difference are: you’re using steel grasp for berserk and I’m using anger management (your ravenous slot) I’m using grandfather as well. Not positive if it’s better than fields of crimson
