They are really neat their from a "oxygen powered" japanese torpedo which was powered by oxygen large oxygen tank and a small portion of the oxygen also powered the gyro thru the air lines on the gyro, really advanced tech at its time.
@@hh-en5rtYes the first torpedo used the Ludwig Obry Gyroscope patent in 1895. They had other gyroscope earlier but in 1895 was the first used in a torpedo.
Thank you! I surprisingly couldn't find much info on the web about this process. It's fun trying to make these videos from time to time. I have a feeling this band file may have lost some of its effectiveness from the rust or just being used a lot before me. I would love to find a new 3/8" band file to try.
Belt sanders and grinders have all but replaced file machines, as the technology for abrasives got to the point where they were cheaper and just as efficient at material removal. But die filers have found a place in many home shops for intricate work.
@Turbo442 yes i know it could have rabies or attack u unless its domestic but wild no they can be mean as can be my dad is a trapper for the core of engineers in other states where animales are a issuse and i heen around plenty of different animales one year he got a possum off the line thought he killed it it played dead and it was walking around he had to get it rabbies and anything else they may carry i know u wanted to feed it but they never leave and then they bring familes but if it had rabbies 1 2 stage u cant tell 3 4 stage they are different and if it did u have to go through treatment not fun at all shots ect. Just be careful
I didn't do any balancing. I just chucked up a gauge pin in the collet. The collets for that thing are expensive though...$200-$300 ea. Not much torque on this little guy. I think the maximum EM dia the manufacture calls out is around 1/32" but I have run 1/16" before if you take it easy. Your not gonna know if the motor bogs down though when its up around 150,000 rpm.
wow...that's cool. I didn't know you can taxi in that area. AWESOME. Last time I was on the Columbia it was on a ferry crossing into WA state. But in downtown area it was on a DUCK...the military amphibian car one.
wow...that's cool. I live in Portland too but I work at Swan Island. I didn't know there was any Searay's in this area. I'm moving to FL this summer and will be saving enough money to go back into flying again. Goal is to get my amphibian ratings one day. Nothing better than landing on water and enjoying the view. Thanks for sharing. Noticed the date on this video....interesting because it was a month earlier we were in FL enjoying 10 days of Clearwater beach, Tampa, Orlando and Key West and I can say having a searay will be NICE to have one day.
