The Carl Dubois Fishing Channel is a place for all keen fishos. The videos will highlight different techniques and strategies to help you land some iconic fish and will help to improve your knowledge and skill level. Kayak fishing anglers will especially gain the most but the methods used can be applied to any fishing, even from the shore or in a boat.
First of your videos I've seen Carl. Very enjoyable. I really like the soft introductory music you use. Many guys use loud thumping music that blasts out of the speakers. Also like that you teach what you are doing with the vibes. Thank you.
I sold my Native Propel 10 and got the Lynx due to its attractive lighf weight. A lot more expensive but worth it. Also the lynx is a 4 in one 1. I have it rigged as a fishing kayak. A sailing kayak, a paddle board (add fin to power pole area) and a normal kayak. Furthermore, i made it an e-kayak as well adding the Texas Power Paddle motor setup. Stealthy and you can use both the mirage drive pedals and the motor if you want to go really fast. Certainly not a cheap setup but it takes fishing to a whole new level when you can just troll around to fish, especially trolling for rainbows.
Thanks Bubaa1. They certainly aren't cheap, but they are the best! I rarely use my Outback now; the Lynx is just too versatile (and light!!!) for me to leave it at home. The outer shell is a bit more fragile but I'm extra careful on boat ramps and also have the BerlyPro Bumper Pro Keel Guard to protect it.
@CarlDubois I work every second weekend so usually doing family stuff on my weekends off or if I'm lucky I get to go away to a hobie comp... might have to put one in the calander next year, they look fun.
Hi mate I noticed that you put your lynx. You have placed the wheels on the front. I am doing the Hobie round on the gold coast next weekend and with the livewell I have to do something similar. How have you secured yours on. I have standard Hobie wheels for my lynx
@@CarlDubois thanks mate I did try that. I have slipped a velcro strap over it. I fished the area last weekend and got quite a bit of water over the front crossing the main channel with all the boat traffic. Keep up the great Vids
@@CarlDubois lol sure is and the seaway is pretty narrow and pretty busy. But I now have a water proof jig head box and a h rail box upgrade so stuff should be a bit dryer.
Great video Carl! Do you mark the spots you catch the fish at and drift back over the marks after a hookup? This weekend will be my first time fishing the deep, hopefully I can work it out quickly!
Hi Shmoo, for vibes and blades I use a Gladiator Tackle Psyborg rod 1-3kg. I hear the Daiwa Infeet range have a nice blade rod, and there is also the Miller Vibe Freak or Blade Freak. I don't throw Cranka Crabs (I can't afford them!!!) but Daiwa has a recommended rod: the Infeet Z Spin rod 782LFS
great video mate absolute legend for helping out. where you could. I fished that bay on the Sunday got 3 fish 2 at 33cms. with a tip from Jaime I owe him a beer.
I look forward to your vids Mr Dubois 😅, 103 angler's what a great turnout. Go the HWS team! Edit: Early comments 🤦♂️ Tinny rats....the scourge of the waterway. Who woulda thunk that cashed up idiots with jetskis were the problem, nah, it's now the cashed up idiot parents with jetskis giving their kids tinnies with illegal motors that are the problem. So glad I don't run comps anymore hahahha, I'd be in the paper every round for not being able to control my intrusive thought 😂
Great video Carl. Good to see you at least getting amongst them. Crazy to hear about Jamie that weekend, glad you were there to help get some of his stuff back. You're a good man
Yeah, similar thing here, but i wrot with them pr mail, just a ordinary repair case, and it took a full month before we came to an agrement…on earlier cases i wrote in their chat, and agrement wa within minutes. Amd the insurance is not always the cheapest option, if you bargain the repair , you can get a drone cheaper
loving the videos mate what lb leader when using metal vibes 6lb? still learning the breambo caught 2 good bream up hawksbury on samaki just tea bagging bait balls going for jew on 14lb leader haha cya at hobie.
Thanks Daniel. It's a Gladiator Tackle Psyborg (IMX Nano Graphite 1'3kg 6'8"). It's several years old now but such a beautiful rod to use. Th good news is that some newer models will be in production soon (about 3 months).
