Hi, I am an Afghan-American cook; I learned many of my culinary techniques from my mother, while also teaching myself other culinary skills. My culinary skills further developed by relying on my intuition and feedback from my family and friends. While I grew up eating and cooking mostly Afghan and Persian foods, now my recipes are very diverse and touch on foods from all corners of the world. My diverse recipe inspirations are shaped by my international travel experiences. New recipe every Friday and sometimes twice a week!!!
Trying it now...subbed maple syrup for yeast with fresh made date syrup. Subbed maple syrup for bread with nonalcoholic vanilla extract and the tiny rest of date syrup. Will let you know how it went! 😅
Loved it . The only problem I wish you would mention where to get the sour cherries , we live in Virginia and is kind of hard to look for them . Thanks again

Could I replace the saffron with Kashmiri chili powder? I mostly don’t want to spend the money on the saffron if it won’t make a huge difference. What is your opinion?
Saffron is an optional ingredient. You don’t need to put it at all. i don’t recommend chili powder in this recipe at all. You can skip saffron all together and still get the same results. I know you will love it.
Do you know how to make Afghan paacha? I remember having it for breakfast at my grandmother’s home when I was a kid. It was so good! Awesome video btw!
Thanks for your comment. Yes, I know how to make pacha. I know a couple different ways of cooking it, my mom’s recipe and my own recipe. Hopefully, I will make a video in the future if you like.
