Hey there! My name is Chloe and I'm an Australian performer who loves a bit of musical theatre and every other genre I can get my hands on! If you like what you find, don't forget to subscribe to see what else I get up to!
Crazy, my pricing is ~$30k - so far... Hospital may bill more after surgery. They also recommended genioplasty, which is an extra $7k and insurance won't cover any of that. Which doesn't of course include loss wages due to time off. My DJS is scheduled in a week and a half.
I just had Double Jaw Surgery recently on August 9th 2022 & I also was wired shut for 3 weeks if you don’t mind me asking did you ever experience numbness inside your mouth & if so how long & are you able to taste your food again? & how was it trying to chew for the first time in a long time? also this video is very informative❤
Going on 3-4 days with my double jaw surgery. It’s so difficult. Your mental has to be 100%. But thank you for this and helping people out. You are right on having to re-learn
Over a year later, how are you feeling? Did you have this done because you had issues like breathing or pain in the jaw/causing migraines? or just because you had the underbite itself? Also, if you don't mind me asking, how old were you when you got it done?. I am almost 36 and have been suggested to have this done. I have no actual issues as such, other than the bite being wrong and a little uncomfortable, but have got use to it over the past 35yrs of my life...and wonder if it's worth it :/ cacking myself as I need teeth removed, then braces then surgery :S Thanks in advance!
I had jaw surgery 5 months ago and this actually made me feel a lot better - I was wondering if the numbness went away completely yet for you? I have actually the same thing this tingly-ness in the left side of my chin and lower lip and then a little bit on the end of my nose and near cheeks (but really what annoys me is the chin). Also if it did go away did it all go away at once and when? (I know i should be calm because i'm not even at the 6 month mark but it helps to hear others experiences too).
Hey Karina, I'm just past a year now and I still have slight numbness in my chin. My muscles still get kinda sore if Im smiling or talking all day! You're doing awesome, thanks for your comment xxx
You're so beautiful. Gonna go and check how you were before, and then decide to do it or not lol Edit: before you looked cute, now you look cute + astonishing. Wanna be cute and astonishing too! I'm doing it.
The fact that you can breath better through your nose is because now you can place your tongue in your palate properly which you couldn't do prior to surgery due to your underbite. You can check out more about Mewing and Myo functional therapy. Any, great result. I am still looking for a good surgeon to fix my breathing and sleeping problem.
No it's not because of that. Moving the upper and lower jaw forward, increases the airway space behind the jaws. Moving the lower jaw forward also moves the tongue forward, further reducing obstructions. Mewing and proper tongue posture is just the correct way to go forward after surgery. It does not fix severe skeletal issues in adults. It can however guide growth in children.
Im reading the subtitles and im pretty sure thats not what you said but it made me smile. Im going through recovery now. I was attacked Sunday and got surgery Friday. Thanks for your videos. It's making it easier for me to know what to expect next.
You look wonderful!!! Did you have any time of face spasms as the nerves came back? I am almost three weeks post op and I have some face spasms occurring.
I have my double jaw surgery in the morning (21st April), and it didn’t really strike me until now (the evening before) that I’m about to go for a major surgery. I’m nervous and excited in equal measures, as you say, my quality of life will be so much more than it is now. Sending support to not only you, but anybody else reading this in anticipation of their surgery! 🤗🤗💙
You look amazing and sooo beautiful, I had my surgery one month ago and still I cannot talk, my chin hurts me all the time and whenever I try to speak it hurts more. My surgeon says it’s ok and I have to try some exercises! Please provide me with any type if advise because I am dying from the inside, I can’t talk and can’s eat 😭
@@cherb6261 for my case, I have to wear my invisalign until the surgery date and I'm not sure if I hate to wear braces during my surgery and post surgery.
Do u need to be a certain weight before going into surgery, because I’m scared that I’m going to lose a lot of weight because my mouth is going to be shut and I wouldn’t be able to eat properly. Thx
Hey know you posted this a few months ago, but I’m currently about a week and a half into my recovery and was wondering when were you able to kind of smile normally again?
i’m one week post op too and just wanna check which part of your face experience numbness as i can’t feel my whole upper face and nose so i’m getting a little worried :(
I am going to have double jaw surgery next month. I am a really nervous but at the same time excited. Your videos are really encouraging. Can you make a video dedicated to essential things required to make recovery process easy? That would be really helpful. Thank you for your videos.
