melancholy =/= being suicidal and depressed. this song is obviously about the latter. this is about as metal as it gets, and agalloch is a very neo folk band. not fake metal or neo folk.
Last night there was a thick fog covering everything, so I went out, just to sit next to a forested field and listened to this on repeat. Soothing and beautiful beyond my descriptive powers. Both Nest and Agalloch are wonderful artists who've in my opinion managed to convey the intricate connection between the modern man and the ancient nature in which we still all live, even if we've build a lot of concrete and steel boxes and technology to distract ourselves from that most of the time.
