Double Board-Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon practicing in New York City.

My super power is 3D analytical problem solving and using my hands to fix or make things. Helping people and putting myself in other people’s shoes is a core part of me. This may explain why I became a doctor. When I meet patients, I’m always thinking how would I want to be treated if I were them.

In college and medical school, I worked in laboratory research including 2 years of cancer vaccine research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. In research, you solve problems with your mind, while in surgery you problem solve with your hands.

I was torn, but ultimately chose surgery because the problem solving is 3D and uses your hands directly. I worked with amazing dedicated cancer researchers who were much better writers and speakers which is a needed skill when asking for grant money from the NIH. I realized that my core strength is using my hands fix or create things so I chose the surgical path.

I think it's important to use medical tape to close the sides of this mask because air flows through the sides of your cheeks and if it's not tight what good is it. Now the recommending and 95

Thank you for this video. I'll follow your advice! I've tried many different ideas, even buying special (expensive) fog-free masks that don't work any better. I did this along with you and I've still got my mask on and I'm seeing to type.

It would be great if you can insert a MASK GEL BRACKET that protects your lips from the mask. The guard makes it easier for you to breath. For the ladies who put on lipstick, the MASK GEL BRACKET will protect your lipstick and makeup from being messed up. The MASK GEL BRACKET provides you breathing space, enabling the user to work longer with a mask on. The MASK GEL BRACKET is very light and fits perfectly under the mask. The MASK GEL BRACKET makes wearing a mask for long durations more tolerable and comfortable.

I fixed mine by doing some sneaky mods to my mask. From a far it looks like a normal mask but inside I breathe fresh air like a boss and no more fogging. 😎

I'm no doctor or nurse or other medical worker, but I am so thankful for this video. I've watched SO MANY RU-vid tutorials for how to prevent glasses from fogging up while wearing a mask, but they barely helped. I realized that, since surgeons have been using masks (for HOURS) even before the pandemic, a tutorial by a surgeon would be best. Glad I came across your video. This really helped me during this pandemic.

Wow. this video obfuscates++ 1. clean hands before touching mask. 2. take glasses off. 3. pick mask up and apply oriented correctly only by holding the ear straps. 4. once on, quickly pinch the upper wire to form a firm seal with nasal bridge, while simultaneously with other hand pull the center mask downwards under the chin more so. 5. put glasses back on. 6. when removing mask, hold by ear straps only. 7. always avoid touching the mask. 8. elastic ear straps eventually hurt the ears++. to avoid, use fixomull or similar wherever straps are irritating. 9. reduce junk food in diet, and increase salads and vegetables. lose weight

What’s more important, easier to breathe or getting COVID?!? For the mask to be effective, there should be no gap anywhere on the circumference of mask and if you intentionally create this gap to breathe easier, you’re defeating the purpose of the mask.

Thank you very much for uploading that video,Doctor G. Yang. Just a question : where can I buy those cold pack sleeves? It's written everywhere that a N95 shield must have 3 plies : are cold pack sleeves made like that? Thank you very much for your time and for your attention.

some good advice, thanks doc, you can also use glass cleaner on your glasses and they won't fog as much, saliva works too if you don't have glass cleaner although it's not very hygienic spitting on your glasses XD
