Dude, Lowe's always has huge deals like this!! I've seen basketball sized Golden Barrels, multiple columnar style cacti stuffed into an 8" pot, just like in this video, or giant Opuntia pads. Years ago, I picked up a volleyball sized crested Euphorbia Amak and a foot and a half tall Pachypodium Lamereii at Lowe's. There was a Home Depot in Pittsburgh, they'd have a huge table just full of various different cacti you rarely see, crests and monstrose as well!!!! I havnt been back in years, I still wonder if it's as good today as it was back then.
lol. I agree! I have found so many cool plants at Lowe’s. Nice pick up on the crested Amak. Love those plants! I bet Home Depot still has a bunch too. Both places you can find hidden gems!
Wow! What a bargain. You did great getting them apart and I'm glad big boy, big roots and the tiny ones got their own pots. I would have done the same 🌵
@@DLLMCACTUS While I was watching, and thanks to your wonderful enthusiasm about the plants and how adaptable they are, I couldn't help realizing how alien-like they are, which was kind of blowing my mind, lol. They are truly awesome.
Thanks so much. I love the nursery. A must every time I go to San Diego. The neighborhood is historic as well. U should see the landscaping. Incredible.
Good selection of succulents and cacti. Here where I live, Belém in Brazil, the Amazon region, it rains a lot, very humid and the sun is extremely strong. It's challenging to grow cacti, but I'm growing them relatively well.
What kind of greenhouse you got? What's the dimensions? I was sposed to get one for Father's day, but had other expenses pop up, so it's postponed for now. It's a bummer, cuz I was looking forward to hanging shade cloth to prevent sunburn. My Mex Fenceposts have all got sunburn on them, and they STILL havnt came out of dormancy yet!!! Id say the sunburn has them pretty pissed off at the moment. Everything else I have is wide awake, getting thick from waterings.
I don’t know the exact brand name. If I find it I will reply with it. It is a 6x10. I bought off of Amazon. I put a 50% shade clothe over the top. The cacti love it. It has been very hot out. I burnt a couple blue Myrtles and an euphorbia. Argh.
Great video, thank you for sharing! I like how you don’t use any fungicide and still have awesome results. Will try the microwave method next time I sow seeds, I had a huge damping-off/mold/fungus issue last time I sowed seeds. Only the real troopers survived! Trying this for echeveria seeds too!
Thx for the tip. Usually do it outside because of the dust but was filming! Lmao. Didn’t know the toxic part just thought it would get all over the place.
Damn bro looking awesome! I get so many problems with baggies, i started using incubators, then i can see 35 pots pr incubator, with just removing one lid, might be a bit less humid though. But it seems your baggies are working great. I will Recommend Chinosol for mold, it kills it on contact and i newer have mold, by using a light solution in the water, also prevent "damping off". i only found one seller in the US "C and D plants", they got it listed under seeds. it seems to be more used in the EU where i am. I will really recommend it, for later control of fungi and algae, but would not use it before germination. It helps me every day, without it my incubators would run rampant. Best regards from Denmark :)
Thanks again. I will definitely look into that. I would love to not worry about the mold! I want to expand on how I germinate. That will come in handy! 🌵🌵🌵🌵🌵
It really is a game changer, also it is cheap and lasts a long time, you can mix it with RO/demineralized water, and keep a bottel on hand it does not go bad after mixing. i use it 1gr/ltr when i see mold/algae, besides that i use it for every watering while seedlings are cowered at 0,1gr ltr as preventive for damping off. It will make germination bad though, so best to be used after, or at low strength for sowing.
