Originally started in 2013 by RogersBase, the Japan Time Podcast began as a weekly show to discuss news surrounding Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. Joining RogersBase from the start were Shofu, Zef and Ricky Cocaine, later regarded as the Triforce of Awesome.
Ten years later, the Japan Time Podcast crew has grown into a team consisting of 11 members: Roger, Shofu, Ricky, Zef, Coast, Warchamp7, Virum, McDareth, Tito, Fadel and Aruuu. Every other week, the Japan Time crew discusses the latest gaming news and share their thoughts on all things pop culture.
The Japan Time Podcast was named one of Twinfinite’s "15 Best Video Game Podcasts to Listen To" and is still going strong over a decade later.
Japan Time is streamed every other week on Shofu's Twitch channel at 5 PM PT TUNE IN LIVE: twitch.tv/shofu
Thank you for keep on doing these I highly recommend the next clip segment should be the japan time's ultimate starter pokemon debate where shofu calls Emboar gear 4 luffy that argument is legendary! 😂
Dude what...? Were you even listening to anything they said??? The whole bit was that ROGER likes to fuck pizzas. Everything was a pizza pun. It had nothing to do with homophobia. McDareth has gone on record saying he has a boyfriend and is a homosexual. Get your facts straight. Stop making things up.
I disagree with not recommending The Plucky Squire. Its unique style game that had Devolver Digital's prints on it. They never make serious, serious esk games, so u can definitely tell it has that Devolver charm to it. I do agree that it can be hand holdy, but sometimes a person just wanna play without stressing over a puzzle. I think its just a silly nonnserious game to play which we need more of.
no I was a bit late since I took a bit of a hiatus and didn't watch the last 2 episodes of the podcast. I was wanting to say to the guys who went to TGS to check out a game called Enci's Solution its made by my friends and their first game in publish by their indie company Dark Emerald Studios, the game is a 2d platformer
Super interesting hearing about the Nintendo musem! Id love to go someday 💜😄 Also hilarious episode guys, laughed a ton, and Shofu playing the game at the end 😁 Been my favorite podcast since the beginning, time flies lol. Cheers! 🇯🇵⏰️🎶
It's so funny that they've been doing this for 10 years and can't even get through the intro without the host. It's nice to hear Zef and Shofu talk as much as they did this week. Zef was in a good mood too 😂
I’m all about AI but to just use generative AI for the background without doing some human editing work to flesh out the AI messes is just lazy work. Developers need to get their mindset straight to not use AI as just a replacement but a supplement or a helper.
I’m actually of fan ai art and animation. I think the technology is incredible at the moment. That being said, it’s still not as great as professionally made art. I wonder if it ever will get there.
Tito's understanding of the Palworld lawsuit is completely wrong. It's a single lawsuit for multiple infringements, not multiple lawsuits. Also, not only do we not know which pantents are infringed upon (seeing as Pocket Pair themselves claim to not know), but since the lawsuit is taking place in japanese court, the USA patent filings have no bearing on the case. The ball catching mechanic he uses as an example was both filed and approved in japan before Palworld released at all. Great discussion besides that.
The problem is, there are A LOT of Patents (8541 to be precise) & a bunch of them are basically mechanics in MANY GAMES (that & the patent was made AFTER the original trailer of Palworld released earlier that summer 2021). Patent Lawsuits are bad for many games because this kinda stuff happened with SEGA, Namco, currently happening with WB, etc. It's not, "Hey we always have these patents so watch out other devs", its other devs going "oh, this Lawsuit that's making the news are showing us what has been patented, we need to skirt around that going forward". That's what happened with the mini game loading screen patent, SEGA patenting arrows in car games, etc. We don't KNOW the patent, but they've always sucked for gaming.
"seeing as Pocket Pair themselves claim to not know" This is literally impossible and they are lying to you. You don't get sued without knowing what you are being sued for... lol PocketPair knows full well what they are accused of, and chose to lie publicly for whatever shady ass reason.
Thought I was the only one who thought Metaphor didn't look that great graphics-wise. The UI and style of the game is incredible. But the environments and some NPC character models look kind of dated. UI basically carries the overall visuals
Just from the bits & pieces Roger could show the Nintendo museum looks incredible, I hope I can go to Japan one day! That Kirby vending machine is so kawaii !!!
