Fascinating topic. Film was ruined by the sound, especially the traffic noise. Had to stop fairly quickly. A real shame because this guy knows his stuff.
Just tried the barre shift tip with Cavatina (Deerhunter) which despite sounding simple I've always found fiendish. Improved it with 10 mins work. Golden tips, many thanks!
This arrangement is so delicate and elegant. I really do love it. (I am thinking this could be played year round since it is such a cultural icon) Thanks, John Gig Harbor, WA
Hi there, David. Good news. Today I have received 2 of your books which I ordered las week: film scores and 20 popular songs. I'll tell you how I am getting on.
I met Manuel in the late 90s and saw him play a handful of times and give masterclasses in San Francisco. My late friend and teacher Philip Rosheger knew Manuel very well. Way too much to go into here, but hopefully I can contact you via email.
Great arrangement, David!!! If I may ask, in your experience, what is the arrangement that your audience enjoys the most when you play them in a live performance? Thank you for posting! ❤💛💚
I love these arrangements. very simple yet beautiful and captures the heart of the song. the delicate playing and harmonics really emulate a floating feather
I’m learning this piece at the moment. Some of your suggested fingerings are the same as the ones I have arrived at. Especially in bar 1. Why would you play it in a way that makes the next chord more difficult? Excellent advice
I am so happy that I bought your book, and grateful for the performance to help me learn this beautiful arrangement. Thanks for sharing these amazing compositions that sound so wonderful on the guitar!
if you ever contemplate making a follow up book of guitar pieces from movie's ,please consider the guitar piece from the 60's film "Deadfall" by John Barry. God, I love it .and no one on RU-vid has ever done a cover of it. If you do, please let me know as I would very much like to learn this song. I bloody love your playing by the way. Cheers
you should definitely try to do this again. there are so many great new makers coming out of these European countries especially Italy and Germany. it is incredible!
She is such an elegant and expressive player. One of the most musical of the Great Guitarists. Her sound on the Hausers - all of them - is my idea of a beautiful classical guitar sound.
