DCThomas's voice PERFECT 4 the gr8 BS+Ts. (Damn, his voice reminds me of WCochrane o/t CCRiders!) Similar 2 early promise of Chicago only much more musical. Bittersweet nostalgia those 3 singles off that No.2 album evoke. There's T.O.P's horn section, there's Chicago's Terry Kath & there's BS+T's David Clayton-Thomas!

I still have the CD to this seminal performance (2 shows)! Incredible talent and musicianship! One of the best concerts I ever attended! The CD has a diverse selection of the songs that were performed, with some unbelievable highlights!

Just discovered this. Like an acid flashback. My favorite version of Blood Sweat & Tears reunited for an evening. Lew, Fred, Randy...Blue Lou hahahahaha Steve Katz, Harvey Brooks-my God-Mike Bloomfield must've turned over in his grave to hide the boner this awesome crew gave him. I'm guessing the RU-vid matrix brought me here because I watched an hour excerpt from Monterey Pop Fest 1967. Al was rocking the B3 with Harvey Brooks, Elvin Bishop, and Billy Davenport playing "Wake Me, Shake Me" I was 13 when Monterey went off but this stuff is making feel old (70 now) So fortunate that so many of these cats are still with us. RIP Lew...and Danny.

Hi de ho....written by Carole King and Gerry Goffin. Carole King's version in on her 1980 album called "Pearls: songs of Goffin and King" Carole King's version has a much more New Orleans swing jazz sound. Her version just sounds more upbeat, optimistic, with a slight religious faith tone. Really cool version.

Snow queen.....that song, yes that song was written by Carole King and Gerry Goffin. Carole King's versions (2) are so different The first is on her actually debut album in 1967 ,called "now that everything 's been said". Recorded as a group called the City. Her second version is on her 1980 album "Pearls: songs of Goffin and King " I prefer both of her versions. Peace.

I miss Lew Soloff's "hanging high A" at the break. Trumpet players may call it a B below double C but since theirs is a B flat instrument? It's an A. All I heard on the recording was the Concert pitch C natural below. It's a disappointment. Lew (rest in peace) was good but his high note chops not as spectacular as I once thought. What they really needed in the horn section was someone like Faddis or Biviano who could just hammer that note. Sitting on it til the cows come home.

What a great show, one of my personal favorites at the Bottom Line, with mini sets from the Child is Father to the Man band, the Blues Project, and Al's current band with Jimmy Vivino. My memory tells me that Jim Fielder was there for at least a portion of the BST set. Does anyone else remember that?

High on a snow-covered mountain From her throne she looks down at the clowns Who think youth can be found in a fountain High on the wings of her rhythms She will smile at the guys who come on with their eyes But she'll never dance with them And in smoke-filled rooms of electric sound A legend is built around The Snow Queen You may believe you're a winner But with her you will soon bite the dust And discover you're just a beginner You may not think you're a loser But in mid-air you'll be hung while you trip on your tongue And it'll only amuse her In the morning haze you are frozen there Caught in the icy stare of The Snow Queen No, my friend, she doesn't want what you're selling Go, my friend, there must be a place you can hide [Chorus] And into the night you'll fade, knowing you've lost the game And just how she got the name of The Snow Queen

Al K gave a mild put down of Steve Katz when he introduced him, saying "and, um, I don't know what he's doing now". Y'all know that Steve K was one of the two people that led the charge to find a different singer in the first version of BS&T which resulted in finding David Clayton Thomas. That of course induced Al K to quit the band. So it was very nice that the Al and Steve put aside their differences to play this show. Also nice to see Fred L. and Lew S. reunited.

This was done a year ago in 2022? It says it was a year ago or maybe that's when it was posted. Are these guys touring if so I would love to see them and they sound just like the old BST. And I suppose that was Al Kooper on big keyboard.
