Just discovered this. Like an acid flashback. My favorite version of Blood Sweat & Tears reunited for an evening. Lew, Fred, Randy...Blue Lou hahahahaha Steve Katz, Harvey Brooks-my God-Mike Bloomfield must've turned over in his grave to hide the boner this awesome crew gave him. I'm guessing the RU-vid matrix brought me here because I watched an hour excerpt from Monterey Pop Fest 1967. Al was rocking the B3 with Harvey Brooks, Elvin Bishop, and Billy Davenport playing "Wake Me, Shake Me" I was 13 when Monterey went off but this stuff is making feel old (70 now) So fortunate that so many of these cats are still with us. RIP Lew...and Danny.

Thank you for this gem. The Blues Project played at the Senior prom when I was a junior with a senior boyfriend. I, and Jeffrey who is even a bigger fan than I, saw Super Session, The Live Adventures of Mike Bloomfield and Al Kooper, when Johnny Winter was introduced to the world. Child is Father to the Man has been with me while walking, driving, skiing, flying, on horseback in the desert and jungle for more than half a century. Thank you Al. Pura Vida

Wow, what a great show, and what a massive surprise to see ME being interviewed at the China Club (about 35 minutes in) back when I was DJ-ing there in 94'. I had no idea that interview had ever aired. Nice Monday Memory. Thx

I lived a few blocks away on 9th St. I never missed an Al Kooper concert. This one was unbelievable. Truly exciting.

Al told me years ago that the Soul of a Man tapes were destroyed. Just found this gem with the All Star group of musicians from his different band formations-BS&T, Blues Project, Super Session. Great listen!

Wow! What a wonderful performance! The 1st BS&T album is still one of my favorite LPs of all time. It's a masterpiece. I always thought that Al Kooper was the vocalist for this number, but I was wrong ...

What a great show, one of my personal favorites at the Bottom Line, with mini sets from the Child is Father to the Man band, the Blues Project, and Al's current band with Jimmy Vivino. My memory tells me that Jim Fielder was there for at least a portion of the BST set. Does anyone else remember that?

My God, the pleasure of listening to this fabulously talented crew play these iconic tunes from Al's amazing legacy is music lover's heaven! The joint had crappy food, often annoying service, skimpy uncomfotable furnishing ,miserly owners but offered some of the greatest shows NY audiences were ever treated to.

The end of 1993, I had to move suddenly, away from Nashville, losing touch with my neighbor, Al ... He used to come by to watch basketball at my place when he walked the neighborhoods around where we both lived. I lost touch with him, of course. Last I recall, Al invited me to one of the Rock Bottom Remainder Shows, one of the first, I think it was. I was turning 40 in 1994, moved to Sacramento, and guess I was embarrassed to let Al know I'd been fired from the Law Firm ... oh, how I miss his cute messages!

Wonderful Al Kooper...

@@lewisc215 he didn’t ask. He insisted on a large amount of money (more than the others got) and when it wasn’t offered he demanded his performance be removed. A huge jerk move.

Read Katz’s book for his take on that. Al, a great musician, was being his usual glassbowl self, and Steve was fed up with it.
