After connecting my Sony A7 iv to the Portkeys LH5P II via WiFi it did not show the image coming from my camera. The menu looks completely different from everyone else’s online too. I’m super confused. This is my second monitor because I returned the first one thinking it was defective. But now the second one is having the same issues. Now it does display the image connected via HDMI but again the menu doesn’t look like it should. It still has all the settings like record, shutter, ISO etc. but I can’t swipe right, left, up or down. I can’t find anyone with the same issues online and I’m really confused. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
@@sadouslife So I contacted Portkeys and they told me that I have a new model with a new operating system and eventually all of the monitors will have the same operating system. They sent me a link for the latest firmware update and told me to install it. They also sent me instructions on how to pair my Sony with the monitor and they said if I was still having trouble getting an image to contact them again. This was yesterday when they wrote me back. I am about to try all the steps they suggested, and I will let you know if it worked.
@@ShawnBustamante bro I finally figured it out, you have to connect it via smartphone on the camera. So go to smart phone connection on the camera and then click connection then when it has the QR code on it switch it to password. Then you go to the monitor, go to wifi, and put in that password. It disconnects each time the camera is turned off but then from that point it’s as simple as going to the wifi part of the monitor and just clicking connect to device and choose your camera
@@sadouslife Right right, cool I get that but my issue was not getting an image after I connected through WIFI. I reached out to another RU-vidr who responded and told me that you need the HDMI cable to transmit the video and audio signal. He said that the WIFI connection was only to control the camera settings. This is my first monitor. Before this I was using my phone and the Monitor+ app and you could monitor the image and control camera settings over WIFI. I'm just curios why this one doesn't. But let me know if you knew this or found a solution. Either way I appreciate the feedback.
I just got one, this is a great run through of all of the capabilities. You saved me in an immense amount of time! Thank you so much and good luck with everything you do.
08:45 it is huge difference between Nanlite Pavotube II 30X and Amaran PT4c. Can we surely say that the same difference will be between Pavotube II 15C vs Amaran PT2c(Nanlite 15c will be winner)?

Hello. Can multiple of these monitors be paired wirelessly with each other to control video from the camera?
Great review! I was wondering if the sdi or hdmi outputs also carry the split screen A/B configuration or are the outputs a direct loop out. Do you happen to know? Thanks!
Hi, the manuals from this monitor state that it does not support Sony A7 IV controls. Can you write me how it really is? Is this camera fully compactable with monitor? I think focus ...Thank you
Do anyone knows a monitor that you hit the spot and the the focus are updated instantly in contínuos mode? My portkeys bm just locks into a new spot when I hit the screen
This particular clip works pallet-wise, but Hong Kong is waaaaay closer to the particular world of Cyberpunk 2077. Hong Kong has a wilder combo of dirt, grime, tech, old buildings, new buildings. Tokyo is famous for being a big mess of hastily erected neighborhoods, but most areas do not have high rises, and most existing high-rises are rather recently purchased. In Hong Kong you get commie-level ugly buildings of 20-30 floors and all kinds of dark allies everywhere.
Moman has to be the worst battery I ever had!!!. Swelled and cracked on first charge in 24 hours. Despite sending back tracked post with receipt of delivery I till this point have never heard back with a replacement despite many emails. AVOID!! AT ALL COSTS!!!
Thanks for your very intensive review :-) I´m planing a set with many tubes. so my question is if the APP has been approved to have a correct sync in pixel mode. Wuld be great if anybody who reads this coud give an answer (today is 24-02-06)
I agree with everything you said especially the end. This only benefits us all! But yeah, red is doing something amazing with the red raptor X! It’s 30k+ but that’s a hell of a bargain compared to Arri! That said, I too am a red fanboy since I can’t afford an arri 😂 But at the same time, Jarred Lands teases with new red gear makes it hard not to love being a camera guy. Some say camera innovation is stagnant tho but I think the next two years will be special. I’m looking forward to seeing what Sony will do when (if) tech from the a9III filters down their product line. I’m also looking forward to cannons response. They all going global like Mr worldwide!
100 percent. I think arris comfy in thwir perch but the raptor x is good competition. I am curious about canons response. They're gonna have to Innovate.
So you know what throws me off is when mixing tungsten and daylight what should be the correct wb ??? Or should i make sure I set all lights to the same including my practicals to my keys etc ???
That's the whole thing in this video. You got to use your eye to do what you want. Sometimes i balance to 4300k to keep it in the middle but I personally lookfor what feels right and what i want my frame to look like
apart from the first forzas and their non conectivity with apps and the horrendous balast , nanlite really delivers more quality in the matter of output and light I think
The X series of cameras are just insane. Top of the top. I'll probably never need to shoot with a V-Raptor, and certainly not an Alexa, anytime soon LOL! I am saving up for the Komodo X and am looking forward to upgrading from my OG Komodo hopefully later this year. Agree with you 100% regarding using multiple camera systems. I'm actually planning to make a video about this topic for my channel at some point. They are all tools and you just gotta use the tools that work best for your storytelling needs, that's what matters most at the end of the day!
Thank you for watching! Totally agreed, I'm impressed by even my komodo x every time i shoot with it. Id have to be making a lot of money consistently to consider that large of a spend. Ill sub to see when you post!
Hey man, great video! Unfortunately my Portkeys won't find my Komodo X on the Wi-fi page for controlling the camera. I tried everything. My iphone finds the Komodox right away and I can control it via the app, but on the monitor it wont show the camera. Any idea what I can try?
There was one thing i had to do for the cable. You have to click on the upper bar on the camera screen where the card info is displayed, then click on thr power info should have the lightning bolt to the left, then scroll down to power out and make sure that is switched on. On the wireless side make sure its only 2.4ghz not 5g in the adhoc settings. I also renamed my network and redid my passphrase but i dont think thats required. Let me know if you have any issues we can get on a video chat or something.
@@animusvisual it worked! For the cable you change the power out to "on" (as you said). For the Wi-Fi control it just showed up after I renamed Name and passphrase of the Komodo. Thanks man! I never thought that changing the name would be necessary :)
