Thank you for making this video I am actually a mom with an 8-year-old and I am looking for what it's like. Having a tongue crib, he has it open bite and they want to put a tongue crib and then eventually braces. So I'm watching this to see if it is worth it because it is going to be expensive. And I also want to know what kind of pain and annoyance. I'm looking at for him since I'm not the one getting it put in my mouth.
Sorry I’m so late! The tongue crib isn’t really painful.. moreso annoying lol. I had a lisp while it was in & it left indentations on my tongue, but depending on how long your 8 year old will have it on they should get used to it after a little while. They also have to brush their teeth/roof of their mouth really well. It’s an adjustment but worth it for the braces.
My daughter had same problem swollen gums over the bracket nothing helped, said she wasn’t properly cleaning, flossing. Lies. I even used to floss her teeth , looked horrible and painful. Took them off retainer couldn’t even fit. 4 years later chose a different ortho, repeat braces, she just got them off last month successful outcome. i don’t think so 😭 but everyone’s treatment plan can be different. I had gaps so they made some bigger to close them at the same speed as others. They don’t want to pull the teeth together too fast so the chains are usually closest to the end of treatment 🥲
😮So do we…I was trying to get the 10th but that booked up early. It’s an all day event. I haven’t seen anything about what the parents do, are we on our own til the kids are done? 🥹
@@Jaycee472I seen a video where the parents were sitting on bleachers and they had a talent show and they were walking around the campus with their student. But then she cut to where they were in the middle of a hall partying 😂😂😂 It’s not much on orientation day. Do you have a son or daughter? Did your child get their room assignment yet?

They are pretty I got braces but I only got the power chain on my top teeth not my bottom but may 8 was my appointment but I missed it because I was sick so yeah
I am so sorry you had to go through all of this. This is so unnecessary. You really need to transfer if you haven't already. I'm trying to help my granddaughter get into college and her dream is a HBCU. But all the stories I'm hearing about I'm not sure anymore. Said a prayer for you. Keep your head up. Don't let them get the last hold of your future. Take it back.

The RA took sides and so did the school. HBCUs fucking suck and favor those with titles or whoever’s parents got the most money and/or influence that’s why I’m leaving to go to a PWI
Idc what anybody says a person is always right for being clean and sanitary ✅. It's non-debateable. If you dont want to be spoken to like a child behave as an adult and clean up after yourself we all learn that in elementary school and for the ones that truly never been taught how I do have compassion towards it doesnt mean you dont need to learn it though. What I've learned is that most people just dgaf and dont want anybody to tell them anything about their lack of sanitation and cleanliness. The time it takes a person to curse you out or fight you about them being dirty af is the same amount of time they could put into RU-vid or Google on how to sanitize and clean (said area used) properly. PERIOD.
