it hurts to hear your mom discourage you about cutting your hair. I know how it feels to have an non-supportive parent. My dad was in his bag when I cut my hair and it hurts but you look good and you made the right decision!

You have my type of hair!! I big chopped a year ago and my hair grew a lot it's worth it. Imma tell you some things I wish I knew during my big chop journey: 1. the rice water does not work on our hair sadly 😔 it gets dry a brittle and will eventually break off (my hair broke off bc of protein overload) 2. stop touching your hair, wash it like once a month 3. braids will be your best friend👏 4. Jamaican castor oil, Aunt Jackie's seal it up pudding and Doo Gro hair vitalizer are like the only products you need 5. Mane and tail conditioner and shampoo is great for your hair This is my routine: 1. wash with conditioner and shampoo 2. Put Aunt Jackie's seal it up product on the length of my hair (not the scalp) and cover your hair to seal it in 3. after an hour put the Doo Gro on your scalp, then put the castor oil on your scalp to seal it in 4. put your hair in the protective style you will have for the rest of the month. When I get braids, after a month I take them out, do the routine & wait 2 weeks before putting braids in my hair again. 1. I blow dry my hair like once a month or once every 2 months I'm sorry this is mad long but your hair is gonna grow👏👏👏

First of all this video just gave me life!! It took a lot of courage to show this. I've been there color mistakes an all. The only reason the color didn't take the first time is you didn't leave it on long enough. You were using a rinse not dye so you could've left it on for hours (I do) or even sit under a dryer for 30+ minutes, it makes the color more intense but even permanent dye you have to leave on for it to process not just rinse out. I'm sooo glad you didn't let anyone ( not even your mom) discourage you because its beautiful, hair cut and color.

I should’ve did WAY more research on dying & bleaching hair prior to me doing it on myself lol but it worked out in the end I guess.. It’s crazy bc I know way more about processing hair now after having already done it, but thank you I really appreciate it!

Yes girl you look bombbb!! I cut my hair back in the summer 2017 shit was not growing like at all! Got it braided up and I took care of it and it was a nice decent length around my shoulders couple months ago I ended up perming it make it “somewhat easier” to maintain but it ended up breaking off my hair again and it got damaged again cut it off yesterday and starting fresh AGAIN 🤣💕! To new beginnings with more knowledge 💜!

Next time start on your ends then go back through and do that roots . Think of it as virgin hair at the scalp (processes faster) the old ends (process slower) love the results tho turned out great

Also when you bleach your roots first I don’t know if you know this or not but if you did Oh well if you didn’t your roots lighten up faster because of the heat that’s coming up from your scalp which is why the front was more pink

I've been loved for 3 years n in the last 2 months been thinking about shaving it all of(not bald to the scalp , just a lil shorter than yours. . I'm just tired of doing my locs/wearing protective styles and or paying someone to do them n just tired looking at my locs periodt. I love them but I'm tired at the same time. I told my mom & bf tht I was going to cut it n a whole bunch of negativity came along with that n so I just kept quiet but still deeply considering it. I'm waiting till my birthday in April to do it. like I did when I tattooed my eye brows last year n everyone was against that too, but since I did it- they all love it ... go figure smh . when you bleach your hair you start with the ends first because the roots let off heat making it lighten faster than the rest of your hair

Just a note for the future it’s better if you don’t bleach your roots first even with short hair it’s hard but you have to make sure that you do your midsection or just your ends first before you go to your roots it takes a lot more time

I have those way looser curls at the back of m hair, like 1-2 rows and like 2-3 strands at the very front. When I initially went natural I used to cut them all the time until it dawned on me that they might be different texture on my 4c.

GIIRRLLL!!!! Me and you are having the same exact problem! I told everyone I was cutting my hair for the similar reasons you are and they didn’t believe me until I shaved the side of my head😂. My mom was a little bit supportive though but you look BEAUTIFUL hands down🤩🤩.
