I was very curious about their quality when I saw the price. I have to say quality isn’t an issue they are just wanting people to use their product and not get rich off us.
Great weather, beautiful Flagstaff AZ., entertainment, good food, overland equipment and vehicles... informative video...what more can a jeeper like me wish for!!!!
That depends ENTIRELY on what the points are. GMRS is line-of-sight communication, so depends on terrain, vegetation, buildings, height above the ground, and curvature of the earth. Typically you’re dealing with anywhere from a quarter mile to five miles, but if you send two people up in hot air balloons they would work much further.
Bucket list. I haven’t met y’all officially but I’d love to one day. Y’all seem like a great family. Maybe your wife can convince my wife to go rock crawling 😂. She does want to watch your Alaska trip. I know y’all are busy, so we are waiting patiently on that one.
I’m sorry apparently on the new release items there is a 6 month price lock. It will work on other items on the site. Thanks for watching and they are well worth it.
Nice! I’ve got two on the way hoping to get them while here in west Texas will be able to try them across long flat areas! Then back home on Caddo lake see how it does with trees across the water and such. So glad it’s waterproof!
If there really is no user-replaceable battery, that's a deal-breaker for me. Seems like eventually it would end up in my junk drawer with the rest of my dead devices. OK for a cheap radio, but not for a $200 radio.
Did those 42” super singles change your turning radius at all? One of the nice things about the F450 is it has the tightest turning radius of any 25,35 or 4500.
Would love to do this with my family one day. Just curious what you do for a job to be able to go on these road trips and afford all the amazing equipment.
There is absolutely NO privacy in using "privacy codes". Privacy codes are used to filter out hearing other users on the same channel. They can hear you if they aren't using the privacy codes and you are. You just can't hear them, they would have to be on the matching "privacy code". Also, 5 watts is normal for most handheld GMRS radios. 2 watts is for the license-free FRS radios.
We personally have not tested that radio so we can’t really give you a fair comparison for that however looking at reviews of that specific radio, it seems as though the interface is not as user friendly as the Midlands GXT67. There are so many handhelds out on the market but with the research we have done from so many brands, the Midlands stand above and beyond!
The Wouxun is a "ham radio" that has been locked to transmit to GMRS frequencies only so it could be certified by the FCC for GMRS approval. So, it is super loaded with features that a normal GMRS radio wouldn't have. If you want the extra features and complexity, the Wouxun is your choice. If a more simple to use radio is what your looking for, the Midland would be the one.
@@michaelderby1655 The only locked feature is the transmitting on anything other than GMRS frequencies. I'm not sure about the ability to unlock it as I never looked into it.
