The main Head Queen of Gospel and an Angel, My Mama Mahalia Jackson. I wish I had a chance to meet and sing with her, I come from a woman my mama who can sing and she and I have a 1st Soprano Singer. I miss singing at Weddings and Funerals and Going Away Parties for people, but I'm always singing and it soothes my soul and an awesome gift that GOD ALMIGHTY gave me, and HE knows when I sing, I feel like a bird, I thank him everyday.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
People loved Mahalia because she didn’t “put on airs” she was Halie whether she was around Queen Elizabeth II or Princess Grace of Monaco or the gardener of a hotel or a homeless person on the street or the mailman on his route. Was she perfect… of course not… but her genuine compassion and faith made her magnetic even now 52 years after her death.
She reminds me so much of my great grandparents' and grandparents' generations. It almost makes me misty. I miss those generations... those people so much.
