Hi, I'm Chad Grenier, a husband and father of 2 girls, and I run a video game development company. In my spare time, I love to fly airplanes around Southern California. I am an instrument-rated private pilot and own a Cessna 172S and a Cirrus SR22T!
From soaring over the Golden State to exploring new airspace, there's nothing quite like the freedom of flight. Follow along on my aviation adventures and see what it's like to be a pilot in the gorgeous skies of southern California. Thanks for stopping by!
When I was a kid of perhaps a couple years older than these girls, I had the chance to take my first flight. Our dad was driving us through rural southern Ohio one Sunday AM back in the late '60s, and we came upon a small airport offering rides in a Cessna 172--for a penny a pound! My younger sister went (she was about the same age as your girls). My dad and an older brother were the other passengers. I can recall watching them taxiing away to the runway. I had vociferously declined to go, because I was terrified. Some years later, I did get my first ride in a Cherokee 140 that a cousin was flying. It was a thrill. He did a few stalls, which scared me but in the same way as a roller coaster. Now, as a grown man, I am a pilot who has owned two planes, and am now looking for a third. My oldest brother owns an SR22 similar to yours. They are great planes. Your daughters are braver than I was! Nice to see that flying is a family affair. Blue skies and tailwinds.
What a great experience to share with your kids. Great family. Great concentration. Nice to see the wifey providing visual confirms of other aircraft. Will be curious to see if either girls develop the itch to fly.
kids. you wait years to take them on their first flight. get them all hyped about "going up in the clouds!" they get up there, and what do they do? play with the air conditioning vents. story of our lives right there.
I get goosebumps throughout this video. Absolutely pristine parenting, video quality, girls just living in a moment and experiencing something not many get to. The patience of the parents. Very wholesome. This made my day!
IM new to the Private Pilots world its a fun hobby for me i do it as meditation fro m work lol Im considering and SR22 or PC-12 i know my son will enjoy it as he gts older
Bello avion, pero jamás llevaría a toda la familia arriba. Es un riesgo porque no quedaría nadie vivo en un accidente y esas preciosas niñas tienen toda una vida por delante
