I took my wife and kids in the new Cirrus SR22T! 

Imagine explaining an outing with your family like this 120 years ago. Aviation is an absolute gem of human ingenuity.

So cute! Noticed how dad was dialed in during that takeoff & departure even with the kiddos being hyper verbal, great focus! And mom calming their excitement when dad's talking to ATC/picking up ATIS. What a lovely family, fly safe guys

My wife and i were smiling ear to ear listening to the back seat conversation. Our kids are growing up so fast that I think it reminded us of how cute and silly they were when they were younger. You have a beautiful family. Safe travels!!

Yep, those cuties in the back seat stole the show! My girls were that age when they took their first flight in our Bonanza F33A. We flew cross country as a family several times, plus many other family vacation trips. Good times. Enjoy... they'll be off to college in a heartbeat.

I was a girl dad too and I have to say it was the most wonderful experience I ever had in life. Mine are grown now but this vid sure brought back the memories and made me think...wow, I can watch a flying vid any day but I seldom get to watch a pair of girls interact and enjoy it all live again. You have a beautiful family, it's one of God's most holy blessings.

Such cuties! I usually watch flight videos for all of the flight and instrumentation technique. I did none of that for this flight. I just listen to them giggle, and talk about stuff in the backseat!

When I was a kid of perhaps a couple years older than these girls, I had the chance to take my first flight. Our dad was driving us through rural southern Ohio one Sunday AM back in the late '60s, and we came upon a small airport offering rides in a Cessna 172--for a penny a pound! My younger sister went (she was about the same age as your girls). My dad and an older brother were the other passengers. I can recall watching them taxiing away to the runway. I had vociferously declined to go, because I was terrified. Some years later, I did get my first ride in a Cherokee 140 that a cousin was flying. It was a thrill. He did a few stalls, which scared me but in the same way as a roller coaster. Now, as a grown man, I am a pilot who has owned two planes, and am now looking for a third. My oldest brother owns an SR22 similar to yours. They are great planes. Your daughters are braver than I was! Nice to see that flying is a family affair. Blue skies and tailwinds.

Those little girls are so adorable! I was more interested in listening to their chatter than I was the flight. I’m 59 years old and my first airplane flight was when I was just over two years old. I remember it like it was yesterday. I remember my dad and I walking out to the airplane with the pilot, getting into the plane and I was allowed to sit in the right front seat all by myself. The pilot allowed me to hold the yoke until we became airborne and I still can feel that sensation in my stomach the moment we lifted off the ground. That memory inspired me to want to be a pilot so I began taking flying lessons right after high school graduation. I joined the military shortly thereafter, started a family and never took the time to finish my training. I’ve never been able to convince my wife that spending money on flight training would be beneficial to us😞. I got involved in R/C airplane flying in my 20’s and eventually on to R/C helicopters. I’m currently training for the part 107 UAV license to start a business after I retire in a couple of years. R/C flying is as close to full scale flying as I ever got or, ever will. It would be a good thing if this flight planted the seed in their minds to want a career in aviation. I’ve never had the opportunity to be a girl daddy but if I did, I would want my daughter to achieve anything she wanted to.

I've been waiting for this. An update to Alyx and Raeleigh growing up. And oh boy have they. From the diaper stage to "not appropriate" words their development has been fast but also what everyone else is saying-- cute. The parked plane scene was my favorite. Raeleigh saying "evva" instead of ever. And a big word "humongous" used by Alyx. "Look at that big plane, Alyx". "Oh yeah that's humongous" replied Alyx. "That used to be the biggest plane evva. But now it's broke. It's rusty, windows broken, and it crashed". Many nice scenes of cuteness. Plus Sarah not feeling well. It kind of looked that way too. But the flight was "okay". "Just okay?" he asked. Sarah's beautiful smile at the end showed she really liked the experience as a whole. Your most entertaining video yet, Chad. Watched the entire thing. Thank you so much for sharing. Your skills as a pilot and a parent are evident. Alyx and Raeleigh are not only cute stinkers but also very well behaved. Ask if they'd like to fly again. It would be wonderful seeing them more before the cuteness fades and responsibilities start guiding their ways.

Thanks for sharing this with us. I do not have kids but have 9 nieces, 6 of which spent a lot of time flying with Uncle Steve. Now, the oldest is 27 and living with me while time building as a CFII. The 16 year old starts her PPL training next month! Both want to be airline pilots! I miss those silly little conversations between them through the headset. LOL

Mate you've clearly made a lot of good decisions to be at this point. I'm pleased and a little jealous... in a motivating way. One thing that caught my eye at the start was the flip-flop shoes however. It reminded me of the advice I got from the start of training - to always dress with the expectation of the flight ending somewhere different to the planned destination.

Those two ladies in the back were so disciplined; right down to the sitting posture. 😊

When you got over the clouds and where you can see the ground I could tell it is southern California, being a lifetime resident, I know it when I see it.
