Man i ordered shaker doors from a cnc guy and they cut was so rough and the edge was so sharp and the corner inside the door was so difficult to sand. I'm guessing there's a way where it can be cut better on the cnc? I'm planning on getting a cnc soon

Hi! I’m 33 and recently took the plunge into starting my own small woodworking business. I’ve been saving up, but as you know, the likes of Homag machines are a hefty investment that’s currently out of my reach. I’ve been eyeing Chinese CNC machines and other similar equipment as potentially more budget-friendly alternatives. From your experience, how do they stack up in terms of quality and reliability? Are they capable of handling semi-automated cabinet production, for instance? By the way, I absolutely love your videos-they’ve been a huge source of inspiration for me. Your shop is essentially what I dream of achieving someday. Any advice you can share would be incredibly appreciated!
@diamondcnc
@diamondcnc 5 месяцев назад
thank you. this is the exact reason i started making videos. to help people who are starting out and dont know which way to go. its hard to start out now when the bar is set so high. even low end expectations from customers are way up there. its hard to compete without a cnc machine we are looking at some different brands right now for our next expansion. nothing set in stone. but there is one really great chinese brand that looks like it could go toe to toe with the big name brands. i cant go into much more detail without giving away our expansion plans. which will be in an upcoming video

I love this channel! Just out of curiosity, how many people work there in production? The problem with Chinese machines is the after-sales service. the Chinese still can't do what brands like homag do, for example. they sell the product and have a team to provide after-sales service, something that the Chinese still don't have. From the moment the sale is made, the service ends there. Greetings from Portugal

@diamondcnc
@diamondcnc 6 месяцев назад
what we can potentially put out and what we actually put out are different. as most businesses we have a problem with employee retention. so we currently do 30 sheets per day cut+edge+doweled. 35 cabinets build, doors on, packaged. the capacity however, are estimated to be 100 cabinets per shift with this set up

Homag keeps advising me not to insert dowels prior to banding. Thoughts? I love your system. My CNC operator stands there idle while the machine runs mostly.
@diamondcnc
@diamondcnc 6 месяцев назад
they advise us the same. but when we decided our operator stood around to much we gave it a try. our cabinets are within .5mm tolerance when doweling before edging.
@evansmith6374
@evansmith6374 6 месяцев назад
@@diamondcnc I wasn't totally clear the reasons why. We re edgeband parts after they are doweled and never have had an issue. Almost all of our dowelling starts 32mm in and we have the same 0.5mm tolerance that y'all do. Next rearrangement....

What are your thoughts on Three spline technology? Snap together cabinets, supposedly stronger than dowel cabinets. I believe you could add the cutters to your existing edgebander, I have also seen stand alone machines that cut the necessary grooves and insert the plastic components.
