Once drawing energy from the ether comes into a brighter lite solar and wind will fall away .Like wise atmospheric water collection will relieve the lack of rainfall in dry arrid climates. Substainable living has always been available but society has moved towards laziness and convience with government making it near impossible to survive without servitude and cost of monetary enslavemnt .
I was so fortunate to visit the Taos earthships this past fall. To live in an earthship community would be a wonderful dream for me. I have learned about the earthships for several years now...but, my husband is a sticks and bricks person. He resists change. I ordered a Prius waaaaaaay back when you had to put a downpayment and then the auto was manufactured for you! My husband was such an Euyore..." nobody knows how to work on them...it will be a disaster." 20 years later, he drives a Prius by choice! lol
Just "white people" coming together and making a community?" Wow, what a snarky, racist question. The guy's answer is perfect..."we were all indigenous people at one time." How about we all cooperate, share knowledge and skills and beliefs? Stop with the divisive attitudes, people!!!
Ive always had a passion gor biology, permaculture, "closing the loop", etc. It would be nice if you could create experimental housing like this nation wide. The homeless could house themselves for wayy cheaper, especially in places where its mainly dry desert like cali/AZ/NM/NV
It’s only cultural appropriation when it’s a big corporation making a big profit out of something a small community came up with and make their livelihood from. Please stop this cultural appropriation stupidity when it’s another small community incorporating good practices to a simple way of life. This is cultural appreciation.
That "ham radio" operator is full of shit. It is very hard to tell what could be wifi signals and they arent on HF bands... As a ham radio operator myself, he is speculating or lying...
The narrator's lack of sincerity really shines throughout the interviews if this reel. His questions are so shallow in their wording to elicit specific sensational answers while projecting a flimsy facade of earnestness. Many of his unthoughtful questions represent a judgmental point of view, perhaps intended to humiliate sincere people doing what the rest of the world has failed to attempt. He works hard to draw attention to the village's idiosyncrasies, and even laughs at them during his interviews. I wonder if he is intentionally making fun of old people. Boooo!
The houses are too big. And if everyone building this huge it’s going to to be back where they are starting the place will be populated and no peaceful anymore for you guys.
There is an acre near Runnymede, England that is called John F. Kennedy Memorial. It’s officially territory of the USA. Some people call it the American One Acre. Of course, no one lives there, and there are no border controls.
Castor plants will ward off gophers or so Old gardeners in America planted them to keep gophers out of the fields? They are getting harder to find in America than 30 years ago. I quit planting them when I found they are dangerous around children, I had children and animals 30+ years ago.
So I live near prairie du chein WI and I have seen some dooseys.. 90 pct time super friendly hippies usually. Once in a while you meet some uh... Not to friendly folks.. however love that ppl can live like that.. I can't because I finally found a good life and married. :)
So, the wind turbines, solar panels and electric car's manufacturing and disposal isn't inclided in their footprint? Bc they leave a hell of a footprint, in addition to being extremely toxic. That's why wind trubines, solar panels and electric vehicle batreries have to be disposed of in specially designed landfills and disposal facilities.
6/3/2024 Everywhere where you find people, living as a GROUP, no matter how loosely, in this way, you will find that the government and the "snooty" portion of society opposing them. THEY ARE NOT HOMELESS, they just want to live their lives THE WAY "THEY" WISH TOO. There is nothing wrong with minimalistic living, just as Henry David Theroux what happens when you do. Some could live a bit "neater", but that's OK, although junk scattered around is what "generally" brings the government down on folks. Neat video. Independence in life and life style, however, for some reason threatens society. Maybe they are envious. ;-)
Is using wood out in middle of desert ... realy sustainable? And dont get me going on the petroleum made tires! Lololol you hippies are hilarious! Its like you took some bad acid back in the 70s!! Lolol
0:53 ~ "Why are we walking barefoot, through the woods, with a bottle of whiskey in our hands?" A question you'd never hear me ask. My response would always be, "WOOHOO! Let's go!". 😆
Years ago I read the story about how Findhorn was started. Quite fascinating. Eileen had to go to the cold bathrooms/toilets at the camp grounds to get some quiet space to meditate and get guidance. It was really cold. That part stuck in my mind because I hate being cold 😂
I like that there is a separate currency. I’ve seen it tried in different places and it seems successful and points to local prominent people and showcases local artists.
