RU-vid channel dedicated entirely towards a unique interest of Ceefax and Teletext - mainly from the 90s as there isn't that much in the way of archive footage from this period on the Internet. My earliest and most special childhood memory was watching 'Pages From Ceefax' transmissions in the early to mid 90s (when it really was good) before the programmes started early in the mornings on BBC1 & BBC2 (in the days before 24 hour TV). Also, used to love watching channel 4 Teletext (4-Tel On View). Used to love listening to the jazzy music as well which accompanied these pages... it was like my internet in the 1990s! All the footage on here is genuine, recorded from VHS off the TV back in the day (unless otherwise mentioned) and has since been transferred to DVD and then uploaded onto the Internet. Interesting to see some of the news stories at the time as well. We're all entitled to one unusual interest... this is mine!
Was pulse and bar still being used as late as 1995, I thought it had been gone for several years by this point. And only a few seconds of test card and music before cutting off to go to Ceefax- was this how it originally went out, or is there an edit or from two different recordings? I guess with there being over a minute of a frozen Ceefax page with a time of 1:45 could suggest there were some problems that morning that may explain that. Things go wrong again when it gets to the same page at around 12:30 as well, the BBC1 and 2 pages are messed up!
Thank you and found you again. All stress dropped away. The girl is just so sweet and sharp looking so i did go on today to. Is this nuts ...she makes me relax cool down just like precious cat Garfield loking how hes yammi eat another sandwicj or lasagne. We need some showing the way in a very very buss world. Thst aint always easy even fir the most easiest normal things. For example... I never like Cook food before the point only vegetarian. But after that all a slow perfect party - like fly to eternity. Here in world - so Nice!
You here made Test card .... makes everything whatever ....perfect. At bedtime too after days last sandwich and juice. Then you can start to dream for next dayll relaxing perfect day. You solve the stress away to a better energy for me.
For the first clip, on 7/9/84, Ellipse is caught from the tail end of Slow Rock Cafe, plays through the entirety of Fedora, and into the start of Mariposa. For the second clip, on 7/15/84, Ellipse is played again, with this clip starting near the end of Fedora, and continuing on past Mariposa, and going through the next 9 songs, onto the closing track, Saga. The clip ends with silence - though I presume a tape change must have been in order, given that they had about half an hour on BBC One before the final program of "Encounters with Islam". As to what tape got a partial playing... I don't know!

Matthew Jackson is the BBC2 late shift announcer (does not appear in this video), and Alex Mason is the BBC2 Learning Zone announcer (she was also the first BBC announcer to welcome viewers to the Learning Zone when it opened in the early hours of 9th October 1995).
Reg Sanders is the BBC2 late-shift announcer (in his last year of being an continuity announcer), and Rosanne MacMillan is the BBC2 Learning Zone announcer.
Can't have been long after the dropped level 2 from Pages from Ceefax- though the Air quality page is still level 2 for some reason. I remember that from the time, I think it stayed that way for quite a while.
30:50 - no news anywhere on the internet of this killing. Makes you wonder how many news stories there are, on old Ceefax pages, that the internet has no record of.
Just remember so fondly, circa early 1996, watching ceefax waiting for power rangers to come on. One time, the sun was coming up, the sky going from navy to a pleasant pink colour like the "finances" picture on here with the high-rise in the foreground. I had my power ranger plush (which my Gran had bought from the toy section of the long-defunct Lewis's store in Liverpool), and said to it "you're going to be on TV in a minute" :D
I don't like Track 5, Off Limits, as some of the chords are unpleasant and the ending is horrible (augmented penultimate chord which I find sinister). The other tracks are fine.
